Question AC vs Radiator???

Never been happy with our a/c, just haven't gotten around to having it totally checked out. One of the mechanics asked if we'd ever changed out the radiator? He was saying that if the radiator wasn't really working well it would cause havoc with the a/c. Didn't make sense at first, but thinking about where the a/c condensor is in relation to the radiator -- maybe??

anyone had any issue with their a/c because of a radiator issue.

The car has always run on the hot side even after the rebuild, but just figured that's the way it is.

thanks for any input

The only way a rad. is going to cause problems is:
1 Allowing the coolant to reach a high enough temp. that the ecu kicks out the a/c comp. (don't know if this applies to a stock ecu)
2 The fins are plugged not allowing air through, which would slow the air through the condensor making the a/c weak.

You need to hook up some a/c gauges and see what your pressure are first. Does your a/c comp. cycle a lot?

The ECU will shut off the compressor if the coolant temps get too high.

The A/C system itself will shut the compressor off if the refrigerant pressures get too high.

Checking your high and low side A/C pressures will go a long ways towards telling you what the problem might be.
