'99 spec wing installation template?

Does anyone have a template(s) to aid in the installation of the '99 spec wing? I purchased one of the"VIS" '99 wing replicas and am finally having it painted. Any help and advice is welcome. Pictures to follow. Thanks...

I don't have a template but 4 of the 8 wholes line up if you had the stock r1/r2 wing. (the 2 pairs on the outer side) So just set it down into those holes and use a sharpie or something to mark the other 4 when you get it lined up.

Thanks for the info, but I do not have a wing on my hatch.

Go to Crispy's site for his solution for a template:

I just installed my wing, and I suggest that you drill the holes a few sizes larger than actually needed, so that you have some ability to move the wing around a bit while bolting it up. You'll never see the holes unless you remove the wing.

Ok, here's some quick pictures of the wing installed. Fit was fairly good, with both inside wing mounts not sitting quite flush with the rear hatch. I will have to come back with some clear silicone to chalk that part, for the doublestick foam tape did not close up the gap. As far as placemetn, I ended up making my own template and it worked fine. Word of advice to others that plan on installing the VIS wing, go buy yourself a 10MM speedwrench. I was stuck with only standard speedwrenches, and box wrenches, and had to use the box wrench which made tightening down the bolts about 10 times longer. Once the plastic is off the underside of the rear hatch, you have close to nothing in terms of room to start and tighten the bolts. I'll take some better pictures of the wing when I have the chance.
As far as the quality and price is concerned, I would give the quality an 8 out of 10 and the price a 10/10. I was in the group buy so I ended up getting the wing for only $210. I do not think that VIS offers this style wing, at least not yet- This is a '99 spec replica.

Has anyone installed an "orginal" JDM wing? My underside is different then the replicas, unless maybe Crispy removed the studs. I beleive one of the studs is broken off, so I may have to drill and tap as I can't get JDM parts right now. Hopefully those will be available through Mazdacomp later on. On the insides of the stands I have two studs twoards the front and towards the rear it looks like it had a 3rd stud but it broke off (got it that way used from jt-imports a while back) and the fourth inner/rear hole it has a bracket with a slot.

ok, seriously no more F/S replies!

Can someone tell me if that black stud thing is what is broken off and also how did you do the metal bracket? It looks like it slides on sorta like the tail lights but on to a bolt or is there supposed to be a permanent stud on the hatch?
