I had a Momo 350mm leather wheel, and recently went down to a 330mm Sparco suede race wheel. Even with 285 Hoosiers, and no power steering, I love it. I can't imagine using the factory wheel anymore.

Agreed. Putting one of these wheels entirely changes the way you perceive driving your car. Feels so good holding on to the wheel. The car feels more nimble.

Cruise control on the Nardi Wheel

It can be done. I did it. Looks OEM and keeps the Cruise... Hopefully after my tune this weekend I will be one of the rare FDs with Cruise, AC, Powersteering and 500RWHP...

I see what you did there. You swapped out the centre airbag for one with the Nardil symbol on it. Clever.
I didn't want a flying m wheel either. So I got a true 99 spec Nardil wheel. Just before the 2000's went with flying m and the Nardil symbol on the bottom.

I miss my FD.
Damn winter doesn't want to go away.

Here is my thread as I figured this out...

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...g-help-942564/

Bought the protege5 wheel from LKQ for 35 dollars. Stripped it of the cruise control buttons. Leveraged the Nardi wheel and airbag I got from GoodFella, but drilled and fit the Cruise buttons to adhere to the steering wheel.

Had to resolder the transistors from the original board to the Protege Board.

Been working great ever since.

Correct - I don't have a single Flying M on the car... nor do I want one.

Talk to Goodfella - he's posted here in this thread and he's the moderator in the 3rd Gen Classifieds, he's your best bet and the price will depend on what he can source for you - i.e. he found me an immaculate Flying M airbag, drilled the hub on the wheel for me, made the whole thing plug and play etc.

It's not cheap, but it's cheap for what you get and it's the BEST money I have spent on this car, period. Honestly.

I was sceptical before I installed mine, now I would never own an FD without one. The extra weight on the wheel is delicious!

Install was about 20 minutes.

Hi!

Anyone still selling these steering wheels?

You can send me a PM if you are - or know of anyone that is.

Thanks!
