99+ Spec Models downpipe or precat?

did the 99+ spec models come with a precat or just a downpipe? I'm looking to replace my pre cat on my 93 cuz its starting to fail. I got an offer for a 99+ spec "downpipe" but im not sure if the models actually had changed over to a downpipe or just stayed as a precat.

JDM FD's did not come with pre-cats. Post up a picture to confirm, but it should be fairly obvious if there is a pre-cat or not in the pipe.

Yea Japan didn't have as strict as emissions. I'm almost 100% sure you're right.

k cool beans. should have realized that in the first place. so my downpipe then, is it normal for these things to turn red after the car has warmed up? it never really caught my attention till the other night when i had pulled it out from its slumber from the winter and started it up. so it could have been doing this for a while. could that be normal?

I never noticed this from when my 7 had a pre-cat, but if you did a lot of WOT runs it is possible. If it is glowing red from just idling to warm-up temperature without much driving, then that is not normal.
