99 spec fenders

I was thinking of going to 99 spec fenders since one of mine is messed up. Is there anything I need to watch out for? Does the 93 side grille fit? Are they wider or differently shaped? Do I need different fender liners (If so what is the part number?)

Thanks.

i was under the impression that they were the same apart from having a hole for a side marker in them because they came from japan. I've rarely seen a metal fender make the trip from japan without getting damaged in some way.

AFAIK, there's no difference (except the side signal hole).

Yep, 99 spec fenders are the same with the exception being the sidemarker lights.

I have a JDM 93' and it has sidemarkers, I'm assuming all the J-Spec models came with sidemarkers regardless of year though.

Yea side markers should come on all JDM fenders. There are no 99 spec fenders.

Oh, I might or might not get them. They're the same price as the USDM ones from mazda comp so I was debating which ones to get.

The other reason was that I'm putting on a 99 spec bumper, and afaik the 99 one doesn't have the side marker light on the bumper, but the 93 does. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Then again deleting the side marker altogether sounds good too.

The turn signal lights on the 99 spec is on the bumper but it only lights up the front of the car, hence the requirement of putting lights on the fender. Same with the pre 99 JDM bumpers as well (JDM ones used blanks where as the USDM ones actually functioned as side markers). I think its pretty important to have if you are going 99 spec. I think it looks better to even though it kind of disturbs the flow of the car.

Fritz or Allrotor must have 100 used US-spec fenders. Why buy new?

FYI, I eliminated the side marker w/ the '99 front, and have never had an issue on inspection, even in **** retentive northern virginia.
