99 Servo Differences(pics inside)

I just got hold of a 99 spec MC,together with the servo. As you can
see in the pics, the MC is the same(well the line are from the other side),but the servo is quite different. So i was wondering if its worth the trouble swaping the 93 servo with the 99.Any ideas?(first pic is the 93 servo).

I've always heard this part referred to as a "brake booster." So I looked up "servo" at dictionary.com , and it's a "control system that converts a small mechanical motion into one requiring much greater power." This is definitely a servo.

The servo uses engine vacuum for power assist. Changing servos can change the firmness of the brake pedal, due to the different amount of power assist.

I would assume that the '99 brake booster will offer less power assist, for a firmer brake pedal feel. It's also possible that the '99 unit will use different mounting holes. Don't forget to bleed your brakes when this is all done!

I have removed the MC to rebuild it,so it was good time to do this.Anyway, the 99 "brake booster" is in,and the brakes have been bleeded.I drove it only a few miles, but the results are obvius, pretty much what scotty described.I will return with G-tech braking distances...

Update*With the new servo the breaking distances remained the same(as expected) BUT the pad knockback(http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_knockback.shtml) is history.Same pedal travel nomatter howmany times i press the pedal.I even went **** and reinstalled the old servo, and the good old double pedal braking came back.Does it worth it?For me yes!

Keep in mind that my car has the normal disk rotors, and not the bigger from the 99 model..

Sorry for the thread revival, but seemed more prudent than starting another thread.

Does the 99+ Mastercylinder have a larger bore? How did you prove to yourself that the swap eliminated knockback? Can you quantify the increase in pedal effort (i.e. - ~20% harder)?

Thanks.
