99 front lip

After seeing pics of the 99 front lip on FD's and seeing the small overhang on the side it got me wondering why no one has just trimmed a little bit off of each side in the middle where they join together to get them to fit correctly. Has anyone done this?

Well it's not a solid piece as it appears to be, so if you were to trip the ends up to make it flush, you'd actually end up with a hole there instead. In the front where it doesnt fit perfectly, the same thing would happen. I thought about heating mine up with a heat gun until it started to get soft and melt a little, and then pull it back till it was flush with the bumper, but that would discolor the plastic some, so I wouldnt attempt it unless I planned on painting the spoiler. Here's 3 pictures that might help some more.

the only way to do it is cut it up, glue it back together(so it fits perfect), make a mold, and sell tons of fiberglass copies for dirt cheap...

i dont see anyway to make it fit perfectly. and besides the little gap only bothered me for a couple days.
