Question 96+ Motor swap into older 92. Having some issues!

Just wondering if anyone has swapped over a newer 96+ motor into an older FD.

I tried searching and I was unable to find what I was looking for.

I swapped a newer motor into an older FD and now I'm having some issues. I swapped over the harness from my old motor and all the necessary components to make it work and now I'm having some electrical issues. I'm getting no values when I try to adjust my TPS and now Im driveability issues. The car revs up to about 3000 rpm then she starts backfiring and wont go any higher.

I'm wondering if its because I swapped the harness over and if I should put the original harness back on.

Any help would be great thanks!

I'm pretty sure they use different ECU's. did you swap those?

So you basically took the 96+ longblock and put ALL the elctronics from the 92 on it (harness, ecu, sensors, ect)? If you didn't swap EVERYTHING over, then I can see you running into issues. But I'm sure the ECU didn't really change till the 99 year (16-bit), or I could be mistaken...

like they say you need to swap prettymuch almost everything , if you have the old TPS try swapping that . unless you used the old TB .
