96-99 intake. Pics/diagrams?

Does anyone have any pics or diagrams on how the revised factory intakes (i believe they may have even been on the 96 or 98 model) work?

I'm particularly curious as to how they manage to duct air in from the small channel behind the liscense plate on '99 and GTC bumpers.

Think you might be a little confused. Mazda did a slight redesign of the intake ducts for 96 and then made a bigger change for 99+ RX-7's. So 93-95, 96-98, and 99+ RX-7's all have different designs.

Thanks, good info.

I'm looking for clear pics of how they routed the ducting on the 99.

I have the '96-'98 ducting and it is basically like the '93-'95 but the crossover is much smoother and larger on the inside. The IC duct itself also relocates the opening for the crossover to the right side (instead of left). Otherwise its the same concept, the crossover still steals air from the IC duct, it just flows better and there are improvements in the construction. One thing I never got about the '99-'02 intake was if it gets its air from the license plate frame, what happens when you are using a front plate?
