94/95 ECU in non-cali 93
I searched for quite a while and most of the results pertained to swapping the opposite way. From what I gather, all the 94/95 ECU's will check for an EGR valve which my '93 non-cali car does not have. Will the only complication be a CEL light if I run my car with a newer ECU?
Yeah, I think all '94s have the California EGR. You would definitely get a CEL if you plugged it in.
But, from what I understand, it's easy to fake out the EGR check circuit with a relay. Do some searching on that one.
Or, just find a good used '93 ECU - they're rather plentiful.

Thanks for the quick info guys. I'm actually more concerned with the '95 ECU's so I'm glad to hear that they don't check for the EGR valve. Any other differences?
And I did read up on faking out the EGR check circuit, looked fairly simple.

Why do you want to replace your ECU?
I got pretty lucky when I bought my M2 ECU. The ECU was out of '95 car. So, it allowed me to ditch the EGR control stuff and it fixed my 3k hesitation problem.
