93 RX7 Hatch

Greetings. I figgured this would be the best place to come for a question I have.

I seen a 93 RX-7 with a MX-3 hatch mod'd onto it. Im sure it took some fabbing but it looks like almost a direct match up.

So that guy liked the X3 hatch, and i HATE mine. So if he can put a X3 hatch on a X7, why can i put a X7 hatch on my X3.

Does anyone one have the messurements for their hatch or can get them? I live in BFE and I have seen ONE 3rd gen running around here and the guy is a turd.

Mainly what i need to know is length from center top to center bottom, width from the bottom corners where it bends, the width along the roof line, and along the hatch runners along the side. The lenght from the top of the hatch to the bend and then the legth from that bend to the tail of the hatch. I know im asking for some time but hope someone can help me out.

I plan on getting myself a 93 X7 as soon as i move to KY in 2 weeks but want to find out if i am going to need to make a hatch out of the one i have now or if i can just wait and pick up a X7 hatch.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks much!

C-West makes a FD hatch for $1550 on RX7Store.net. It says 24lbs (the C-West stuff is all paper thin I've heard and certainly not metal), any idea what the stock one weighs?

You could try having that hatch put onto your MX-3. I'm not sure what OEM FD hatch costs, your best bet might be to try and hang around the Classifieds here until you find somebody parting a front collision FD out (I think one is listed now).

Poor car. Too bad that's such a waste. That's just as ugly as the FD limo. Who in their right mind can do such a thing.
