Those numbers from Dowling's site represent a sales/year breakdown and not production(i.e. '93 cars were mostly sold in '92 and '93, '94 cars were mostly sold in '93 and '94) and there's even some cars not listed there that were sold after '95. In late '96 Mazda was offering a $5000 discount to help move out the last ones on dealer lots.
