There's really only one main CPU that is located on the right passanger kick panel, but there is one more smaller cpu for the ABS ( I believe, since it says ABS on it) in the rear hatch as well. This goes for all Thrid gens, not just 93s. Im not positive if it is a CPU really, but it looked like it when I found it striping my rear compartment.

Where is the tranny computer and which is the smaller of the two. I have an auto and the previous owner put a new tranny and a new 5-speed computer in it (installed by RVM racing in NJ). Lord knows why. The mechanic told me they replaced the bigger computer. Is that the tranny computer? I will call him back tomorrow and verify, but wanted to check with everyone on here to make sure I don't get BS'd. It was running ok til this weekend. Now it sputters when I get to 2800 rms and wants to cut out on me. Can this be a bad computer? Is it the tranny computer or the ecu. I can get a used ecu pretty cheap if that's what i need.

If you have an AUTO FD, then a 5 speed manual will not work with your car. Make sure you get a 93 cpu as well. The Main CPU is the largest as well, its in the passanger side kick panel.

In terms of Boxes( not all are computers)

Passanger footwell: Main ECU, Electrical Load unit, and Auto ECU( if it's an AT)

Drivers footwell: CPU1, CPU2, cruise control module. One of the cpus is integrated into the back of the fuse block. These control lots of the misc stuff, power windows, factory alarm, turn signals, warning buzzers.

Center under dash(on drivers side): air bag controller

Center under dash(pass side): center channel speaker amp

Drivers side in trunk: abs controller

Thats all I can think of for now.

I got a clue now maybe to what's wrong. I got the error code from the diagnosic. It's error 45-

Charge control Solenoid
open or short circuit

Does anyone know if this could be the cause and help me in fixing it?
