93 FD Part out or sell as whole?

I didn't really know where to post this one,

but I am getting ready to take out a perfectly good running wankel from a 93 with 66,000 original miles. Now I was told there are 3mm apex seals in there but I cannot prove it because I have no receipts. I have receipts for lots of other work done that was very expensive.. so it may be true.

Should I sell the engine as a whole or will I get more parting it out? I know that some parts could potentially be damaged and not fit for re-use. I don't know why they would as I am still driving with the very same engine almost every other day.

Thanks for any infos..

my personal opinino is that if you can't prove a rebuild mileage or what components were used, you may be better off parting it out. if the parts are in good condition, people will ****** them up. of course, you leave yourself to the risk of everything being bad and missing out on a "sell as-is" situation but if you part it, you know what you're selling and won't screw anyone over. i see integrity as being more important than profit, but, that's my opinion.

best of luck

yeah when you don't have documentation, and it's actually in good shape, then you'll do yourself a favor by taking it apart to inspect it.

Just get a compression test, then you would know the condition of it.

Don't part out a good car and destroy it. If you can't sell it put it back to stock and sell off the performance parts to recap some costs.

get a compression check with receipt and video tape the car running with a vac gauge installed then I am sure you can sell it complete.

I'm not parting out the entire car. The car is a clean title, no problems. I have reason to believe the internals would be in pretty good shape, but I will follow the compression test idea first. If it is less than desirable, I should have some internals available at some point.

okayt

if she'll do 145mph in a run and rev up to about 8k before it shifts from the redline and it also idles fine after a good hard run.. but my compression sits at like -9ish up to -10.5 vac at idle... am i on the border of blowing this thing? It sounds fairly healthy to me
