93-95 Rear mascot emblem

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed...

I am basically trying to obtain a Rear mascot emblem, mine was broken and thrown away by the painters...
From my research, the front and rears are different sizes, and I believe the rear is no longer being made.

I can't find the part # for the rear mascot to confirm that is indeed out of production.

On ebay there is several rear mascot emblems for sale from different Mazdas ranging from 6.5-7.5 cm wide and 5-5.8 cm tall
If some one can confirm with exact measurements of the height and width that would be great.

picture for reference.

Interesting, never thought that it would be discontinued. You can get the JDM Efini badge or the JDM Flying M badge as a replacement. Personally I have the Flying M badges, I think it updates the car and makes it recognizable as a Mazda. Not a big fan of the "toilet bowl" emblem. But, if you're going for a correct restoration, you'd need the correct rear badge.

This is also probably something you could get used fairly easily. A little 3M double sided tape and there you go.

Do the Flying M badge mounting tabs line up with the holes for the original badge?

I think they do, I seem to remember that when I did my car.

Not sure about the front badge, though, with putting it on a 93-98 front bumper. I think I had to cut the pegs off then use the tape to attach it.

Part number for the rear emblem is FD02-51-741A
It looks to be discontinued but there has to be some floating around still new in the package.
Good luck with the search.

Thank you for the replies, I actually own both the Efini badge and Flying M badges and using them now...Just replacing the broken/missing parts to return it back to stock if i decide to sell it. Been looking for junkyard Rx7/rollers/rear bumpers just to see if i can snag the emblem. After looking at a friend's miata and noticing the same logo, I figured that it could be possible that this part was used on other vehicles. Ebay turned up many examples, getting a logo at least close to the OEM size would be a compromise for now.

I bought a 95-97 Mazda millenia rear trunk mascot on ebay

part # TA04-51-740

It looks to be exactly the same. I posted pictures to show a comparison to a buddy's Rx that still has the rear logo. The image perspective might make it look "bigger" but it is not, pins also seem to be in the right place. Even if it's slightly bigger I don't think anyone would notice.

That's a nice find, Thanks!

Just make sure to put it on right side-up . Seen that before.

Does the angle contour of the new emblem make it flush sealed on the 7 ? I recall looking into those as well earlier this year

I think the original emblem is pretty flat.

Btw, do we really need the washers (part number is 9957-83-000) on the back to make the Efini badge fit correctly?

I think those are just to retain it or something. Badges I've applied had double-sided tape and the pins to locate it, that was really all it needed.

I purchased this same part number on ebay a few days ago after somebody stole mine off the car at a car show. The alignment pins fit perfectly and it sits flat where it belongs, I haven't applied tape or glue to mount it yet but wanted to confirm this is indeed a good replacement part. Thanks for finding this!

Yeah, I had no idea that stealing a 90's Mazda emblem would be a thing. I knew people stole Mercedes and BMW, but the Mazda toilet bowl? I guess it could be some idiot that didn't know it was just a mazda, thought it was some exotic brand.

Or they just did it out of pure maliciousness. I had a friend that had a coffee can full of chrome Schrader valve caps, just because he could take them off cars easily.

I don't know how the description escaped my view all this time but after now seeing this emblem described as a "toilet bowel" I cannot unsee it haha
