i dont know if the doors are different are not but the insulation has to be. when i close my door(93 touring) and when my buddy closes his(94R2) you can hear a difference. my sounds like a tin can closing and his sounds solid. maybe my door just needs to be adjusted properly too.

They ARE NOT exactly the same. The 93 door will fit fine and everything will line up. In 94 they added some little steel brackets with styrofoam on them. So the difference is the two tapped holes to mount the little steel and foam piece. Also note the wiring is different for Bose models. You can swap them out easily though.

Make sure you take the door off using the UNPAINTED bolts.

The hollow sounding door thing isn't a 93, 94 or 95 thing. It just depends on if the goo they put between the door and impact brace stayed together.

I experienced the same thing "suprfast". My 93 touring had a solid sound. When I bought my 93 R1 you can tell the difference, it does sound like a tin can.....

Keep in mind the door lock mechanism has different electrical connectors on the 94/95 VS 93. when you open the door, toward the left bottom you will see a bronze locking mechanism. It looks the same, but the wiring is completely different. I found out the hard way, it was a total PIA Mazda is so stupid sometimes.
