92 fd??
92 fd??
so i have bought a 92 fd but cannot find anything on the 92 models. everywhere i look the lowest year people talk about is the 93fd. someone told me that the 92 fd had to be labled a 93 because thats the first year they were allowed/produced for north america. however im sure one of you has a much greater answer to that.
also, when im looking for parts, is there a difference between the 92 and 93 models or are all parts pretty much interchangeable with 92-97 fd's??
any info is much appreciated!
thanks

All rx-7's sold as 92 year models were *technically* FC's.
There were some FD's created in 1992, however they were sold as 1993 model cars. As Rx72Heaven said, FD's produced in 92 and 93 are essentially the same.

All parts will be interchangeable up to 1995, - then some of the turbo control system and vacuum lines/ ECU is different.
big changes happed in 1996 when the series 7 was released, they got rid of the rats nest, vacuum lines simplified, turbos now flow more - and the ECU was upgraded to 16BIT etc. (US people know JDM 96 + stuff as "99 spec")
So basically everthing is interchangeable "except" some of the vacuum lines / turbo control / ECU stuff from late model FD's.
All parts like shocks, etc etc are interchangeable.
