Hey dude, chill. The DUB show isn't really that bad. My car was supposed to be in the show when it comes here to Chicago, but I'm not going to be able to get rims for it by then. And TRUST me my car does NOT look like some horrible piece of ****, atleast I hope not . Also, a few of my friends have entered their cars for the show and they're all tastefully done. The show isn't whats gay it's some of the EXTREME RICED out cars that are.

Ohh yeah, want to know if a car show in Chicago is ganna be good? If AMS shows up, its probably going to be decent. And if they do, go to races afterwards to watch them destroy anything. there new 900AWHP Evo is more rediculous than a 1200whp supra. And it actually goes fast unlike a 12 second 1200whp supra (lol, just joking, some 1200whp supras are actually fast).

Yah one of my friends actually has a 1000 rwhp Supra. The car itself is amazing in every way, fully done up with quality everything. I know when I thought I would be able to enter the show I planned on having him join the team, but now I'm not sure if he will be showing. Beautiful car though.

Car shows here in Chicago usually tend to be decent. You don't really ever see too many RX-7's aside from the one posted in this thread which is there each and every year and honestly I feel is one of the uglier RX-7's I've ever seen. As for AMS, I'm not sure if they themselves will be representing at this years show. From what I've seen their cars usually tend to be "sleepers" so I'm not sure they would even qualify to be in the DUB show. However, I could be mistaken. I know some of the cars they've worked on have been in magazines and what not but I'm not sure if any of those cars were actually theirs.

All the cars that say AMS are all built entirely by them. and they dont let anything less than 500whp wear badging from what I understand. I was up there a year ago and witnessed a 800 whp mustang back down from one of their cars just because it said "AMS." Word is the stang got worked by one of their evos a few months earlier. Its pretty narly to watch them on the streets. They are probably the most wicked cars that actually will race that ive seen. And Ive seen some of the CFT cars go.

You guys are funny. Always wishing that all FDs look the same. Bunch of Cookie Cutters are what most of you are. I commend the guy for his work on this FD.

Did anyone notice that the last one with the interior butchered car was an automatic. Why is it that all the Automatics get the fugly end of the deal?

What about the center consol of that interior? what it that? a divider? WTF?? Some people are morons. They do clean work, but operate on the dark side or somthing. They put their skills to bad use! Do they not understand that is utterly ugly?

Dude, you say the same thing over and over. serisouly, ive seen you say that same comment in about 3 other threads. we are hating the fact that everything done to that car is for show (and ugly) and nothing functional to go fast as the car is designed. The entire outside mods are for show, nothing is functional... in fact the body kit most likely is drag. All that **** added to the car is added weight. that thing easily weighs in well over 3000 lbs. Poeple on this board tend to mod similarly because we know what makes the car faster and functionally faster. funcitional modifications do look good, but we add them to end up with a quicker car, LOOKING BETTER IS A BY-PRODUCT! and that "NAWZ" bottle probably isnt even hooked up, and if it is, it would be lucky to make it run as fast as a stock FD with all that extra **** on the car! its hard to rice out an FD, but this guy has effectively done everything but add grains of rice to the fuel... wait, think he could be this dumb to??.... naaa, couldnt be.

I agree with rt Turbo COMPLETELY. I've actually read several threads with you saying the EXACT same thing. You might need to go out and get some new material or perhaps expand your vocabulary some as I'm not really sure what your true problem could be.

As for most of us being "Cookie Cutters" as you repeatedly like to put it, I would only say look at your own car. I'm NEVER one to hate on stock, modded, or whatever FD's, but honestly Jay Laub's car is straight FUGLY. I admire everything he has done to the car, but when put togther and looking at his car as a whole it's really just tooooooo much. He went way overboard in my opinion and I believe that's the same point everyone else here was trying to make.

Oh yah, now back to the "Cookie Cutter" comment and your car. I really don't think you should be the one going around and saying comments like that because it totally makes you look like an ***. Considering the fact that your car aside from wheels looks like a COMPLETELY stock FD and hence fits in to your statement of being a cookie cutter more than most others would on this forum, it just makes you look like an IDIOT.

Sorry for the harsh words, but they needed to be said.

That's really interesting. I actually never knew that about AMS, even though their shop is literally 2 minutes from my house. I have to admit though that the cars they have are SICK. Those guys definitely know what they're doing in terms of EVO's and from what I hear are known nation wide.

On a side note: One of my friends (owns a 3000 GT SL Supercharged running 11's currently and looking to run 10's) is best friends with one of the partners/workers at AMS. I guess he's known this guy since childhood and he always gets his work done and gets hooked up by AMS.

Well one night my friend is out at a meet and meets this dude with a Brand New Corvette C6 Zo6 who from what I'm told thought he was on top of the world and was talking a lot of ****. He apparently wanted to run my friend for $1000.00 or I'm guessing most anyone else for that matter. So my friend tells him straight up that his car is not running completely right and besides it's still not finished, but asks him if he'd be willing to run one of his friends with an EVO. The Zo6 dude I guess figured an EVO wouldn't have **** on him, but boy was he wrong .

My friend calls his buddy and the guy ends up bringing down their 9-second 1/4 mile shop EVO. The AMS guy already knew he was gonna **** on the Vette, so decided to give him a few car lengths lead. The EVO basically blew by the Vette as if it was standing still took the $1000.00 and left. The Zo6 guy apparently had nothing more to add, decided his night was over, and took off pissed.

I just thought since your a fan of AMS's work you'd appreciate that story.

yes the one pic i posted is not from an rx, sorry it was all green and in a row i thought it was from the 7 and didnt really look....thats one of the worser looking cars, aside from a m3 gtr that was annihilated by rice, and maybe one other car. The rest were pretty neat, I thought it was going to be a bunch of slow but showy cars, and it was! But its a car SHOW not a race, and showy cars are fun to look at, besides when I see 20" rims now they look like peanuts, there were rim sellers there that measured their rims in FEET not inches, not my cup of tea but still some cool stuff to see.

ha ha , thats great. I heard once of them racing an Enzo Ferarri. similar ending .

Thats pretty bad *** about your freinds 3000. Funny thing, if he hits 10's, just tell him to drop to a 10.5, cause if im not mistaken, that would beat the US record for fastest VR4/stealth. lol.

rt turbo and Farhan:

First, I'm assuming that I can use the word "Cookie Cutter" 10,000 times if I choose since everytime someone post a FD with a bodykit the word "Rice" is in about 70 replies. You have your terms for things, I have mine. Second, about my FD, I haven't had the thing long enough to acquire the money to do the kit I want to do. I've been working on motor mods and a few exterior stuff as I go. I've spent about 3k in the past 3 months just adding stuff as I go. So don't get bent all out of shape that my FD looks stock because I'll give you plenty of boxes of rice to throw my way when I'm done.

As for harsh words...harsh words don't bother me because of the line of work I do but I didn't find anything harsh about your statement. I do think both of you need to realize one thing. Everytime there's a post of a bodykit, people on here are quick to down it and that's fine and expected, but I hardly ever see anyone willing stand up for the bodykit guys and that's all I did and will continue to do just as much as some of you express your dislike for them. No biggy, just different view points of the way things are done. If you took offense to the Cookie Cutter comment then I apologize but I would hope that people on here would have more respect for the work that each other does than to constantly bash the bodykit guys even if it's extreme.

All I can say is that I'm sure that just as you will continue to express your dislikes for bodykit thread photos then I will continue to take up for those cars. Just because you dislike them doesn't mean that everyone else does. That's all I'm saying.

Hey Hus,

See when you put it like that, I can understand where you're coming from. I myself hate the word RICE because it's sooooooo overused that it no longer has any significant meaning to it, and basically the cookie cutter comments were starting to feel the same way. I rarely if ever bash on other people's FD's because personally I understand the time and effort, not to mention money it requires to do anything with these cars.

Honestly, though, there are a few that deserve to get hated on and Jay Laub's is unfortunately one of them. Every part that man has on his car is by itself AMAZING, but when it's put together it comes off as way tooo much. He should have stopped a long time ago, but I'm guessing he no longer knows how.

BTW- I wasn't hating on your car man, just trying to point out that as of right now it fits into the cookie cutter comment better than other peoples FD's. Also, I'm not a hater of bodykits on FD's either considering the fact that I myself have a non-stock FD. There's plenty of beautiful FD's on this forum with a wide array of body kits that I wouldn't even dare call rice, but then again there's always those select few .

P.S. - I've been trying to figure out what that car is in your sig behind the FD? To me it looks like a modded FD, with fender flares, but I could be mistaken.

Hey man, it's all good. That is a modded FD in my sig behind mine. The picture was taken at the SNS (SevenNotStock) in Hernando, MS (15 miles south of Memphis, TN) last month. It's an all LS1 FD event. I was the only rotary there. The event was hosted by the guys over at Torquecentral.com. Here's a better pic of that particular FD:

^ Nice! Are there really that many LS1 FD's that they can have their own meets? I'm here in Chicago, and I only know of one person that currently has an LS1 setup with possibly two more guys to follow.

I'm still on my stock motor and I basically said I'd give the engine two chances to go out (stock engine = now, and street port = future) before I myself seriously consider this conversion. I'm not sooo dedicated to rotaries that I would put up with 3 + engine rebuilds like some others have been known to do.

Oh and quick question: Is "torquecentral" a forum for LS1 FD's or just a general forum?
