Effective? Yay or nay

I've never heard of anyone using something like this on their transmissions over here. Even on differential covers, i dont see it too often.

Might help a little bit. I've seen things like this for differentials but not ffor the transmission. If you really need more tranny cooling you'd probably want a complete tranny cooling system with remote oil cooler. Do you do endurance track events? I would imagine the stock tranny would be good for any other use.
this was common to do in the 60's on Brit sports cars, they helped ... but do you need it. Does anybody have track temps of there trans or diff. I am too lazy to hook up a gaugeand figure a syn oil will take it.
I run Neo 75w90, which has worked very well for me in the tranny and diff, but many times with the type of driving that I did (I suppose they could be called rallyes) the shift feel did get fairly notchy after about 60miles. Didn't skip any shifts, but it didn't feel too healthy either.
FD transmissions are much much better than the 2nd gen transmissions, but i'm sure there is room for improvement here and there.
I might be totally off, but wouldnt a remote cooling system require a pump?

I don't see where you would mount a diff/tranny cooler where it would be effective. It's already extremely difficult getting enough cold air to the important things -- intercooler, radiator, and oil coolers.

Cam from Pettit and RTS3GEN found a place which might work for a tranny cooler. I don't know if RTS3GEN ever got around to getting everything mounted. He's on his 3rd tranny IIRC. He blew the last one at the same track event I blew my motor.
