470 hp & stock injectors
Hi,
I've bought from Japan an fd3s 1999 model for parts, the car was made by Feed
and the importer told me that the car have 470hp when i took out the injectors to
clean them i saw that was the stock injectors and i ask you can the car reach the 470 hp with stock injectors? Why i see everybody who wants that power uses the 1600cc and the 1300cc.

According to the Max Cooper fuel injector calculator (http://www.maxcooper.com/rx7/how-to/...tem/calcs.html), the highest hp you should be able to sustain at 43.5 psi base fuel pressure with the stock injectors is 433 at the flywheel (that's 377 at the wheels). That's at 100% duty cycle. That's a pretty big jump to 470 which I'm assuming is quoted at the wheels.
Do you have a dyno sheet to back the hp claim? What base fuel pressure are you running? You sure you don't have 850s in the primaries?

Pushing the injector duty cycle past 80% will affect the life of the injector.
With the duty cycle cranked and fuel pressure very high, it may be conceivable, but I can't imagine any reputable builder doing this..... Fuel is something you don't want to play with when building a high HP rotary. This is why many use overkill with fuel systems. Better to have to ability of too much, than on the limit of not enough...
What single are you running?.. it is common for some vendors to throw out numbers for a sale...

Did the dealer give you a dyno sheet? Some parts may have been taken off the car in Japan or in Greece. There is always that risk when importing a car. Everybody uses big injectors cause I don't think you can run that kind of power without touching the fuel system and leaving some safety margin.

yeah I don't see that happening with 550' and 850's. 470 HP assuming it's flywheel thats like 425 RWHP... Even still that's way too ambitious.
So lets go another route and see if 470 is even plausible:
what turbo is that, what PSI is set for, what ECU? twin power? Does it have a wideband? what does it read? twin power? Fuel pump?

the turbo is garrett T04Z,15 psi,power fc,wideband,walbro fuel pump,Feed intercooler,titanium exsaust.
The car had the hks f-con programmed by Feed in Japan but i don't use it because my car is 92 model and the Feed car 99model and i use my power fc .

That's a mighty turbo. Can you take a pics of the injectors? I bet that would clear this whole thing up.

The 195500-2460 is the Nippon Denso side feed 550s and the 2450 is the ND SF 850s. Sounds like stock injectors to me. Just wait for the analysis of the flow rates from the injector cleaning guys to know if they're stock flow or if they've been modified. I'm betting they've been modified since a T04Z at 15 psi is well outside of the ability of the stock injectors to supply fuel.

Edit: To above comment, if you have a Power FC+Commander you can see if they're 1300's, you dont need a Datalogit.

Oh yeah, you only need the datalogit for inputting larger size injectors (eg 1600s). It's all coming back to me. So if he's got a commander this could be answered easily.

My car consistently pulled 315rwhp on the dynojet with stock injectors. (ported twins, supra pump). That was the absolute MAX duty cycle and i ran it like that for a year with no issues and safe AFRs
