Question 3rd gen rx-7 reliability??

Whats up everyone? Im in the market for a "new" car and of all the ones ive been researching, the rx7 keeps catching my eye. My question is about the reliability of the rx7's legendary rotary engine... How reliable is this engine compared to a standard engine? I am looking for an rx7 with a rebuilt engine...none the less I would definately like to know how well built these cars are! Thanks a lot.
-Bill

p.s.... im looking to mod this car too! so factor that into to the reliability rating if you didnt already thanks again

Welcome. In the future, use the search button in the top right for basic questions. Although, I'm not sure the search function is entirely working right now.

Here's some sites to check out. These cars are not ticking time bombs or anything, unless you modify improperly or don't keep up the maintenance. They are not reliable in the Honda sense, where you can go w/o changing the oil for 6 or 10 or 30000 miles. These cars do require a strict maintenance schedule. Anyways, check these sites for good info.
