I always get in such a huff when people fight with me about whether there were non-turbos or not... For some reason they know without a doubt, that there were N/A versions.

I went to a dealership that had a touring for sale.
Me: Wow, is this twin turbo? (playin devil's advocate)
Sales puke: Actually, no, this is the luxury model so it has a single turbo.
Me: Cool! How many cylinders?
Sales puke: Oh, it's a V6.

Was this at a Mazda dealership, or some other place? I was looking at an FD at a Mazda dealer one time, and when I popped the hood and asked what kind of engine it had (knowing full well exactly what it had), I was told by the salesguy that it was a V6.

I called up a Mazda dealership once for parts, and when the parts guy asked me what year/model, he asked if it was turbo or non. I naturally replied all were turbos, and he countered with a 'uh uh - there were non turbos'. I did not even bother pressing the arguement, and just told him mine was a turbo equipped model...

Heh heh....you should have told him you have the non-turbo...then let him try to find the "non turbo" parts you were looking for. I wonder how long it would have taken for him to figure it out

In the summer I usually go around to all the used car lots in seattle and check out what they have. I've been lucky to see a few used FDs around and I've have played dumb with the salesman more then a few times. I've been told that that engine was a special type of engine but couldnt think of the name... That it had a V-6 and that the car is going to go up in value since it was in the fast and the furious.

it drives me crazy - i've had 2 people insist they really like the convertible FD -
me :"uh....they didn't make a convertible- there is one somewhere, but it's custom - "
them: "no, man, really, my friend has one, its awesome"
me: " uhhh...yeah, dude - ok - (******* idiot)"

then the classic - "oh, yeah, i like the green ones" "they don't make green" "no, really, i saw itmyself" "ummmm...ok, you're right, i'm an idiot"

I am glad to hear someone likes the "green" ones since that is what I have. If I didn't know the name of the color, I would call it green most of the time, so you can't blame these folks for their mistake. Perhaps Mazda should have called it Montego Green.

So, by this line of logic, I should be able to go out and buy an old Pontiac Trans-Am, and expect it to go up in value because the car was in "Knight Rider"?

Wow, the things some people will say to get you to buy a car.... Does it fly too?

yeah, personally i think it looks blue - but i'm color blind, so what do i know! but still, it drives me crazy when you explain the whole blue/green thing to them, blah blah, but they insist "oh, no, you're wrong, cause i saw a green one! you don't know what you're talking about"
