3rd Gen Door Ding
I've owned my car for 11 years and never had a dent or a ding. This past weekend I opened the door of my other car into the driver's side door of the RX-7. The worst wounds are often self inflicted.
I'm amazed I got this far without any metal acne and I've had a Dent Wizard repairman lined up for a couple of years knowing I'd need him eventually. I watched him work at a BMW dealership one day and was very impressed. Today, Scott exceeded my expectations. Mine was a not too deep ding that was slightly smaller than dime size. He attached a mirror to the car with a suction cup to give himself a better view, than he inserted his straightening tool down the door window track.
I figured he'd make it look maybe 75 % better, but when he was done it looked perfect. I couldn't find where the ding had been. I feel like a former virgin who's had her hymen surgically restored. (They actually do that, believe it or not.)
It took all of two minutes and cost me $40. The window wasn't scratched and there was no other sign that anything had been done, just a perfect door once again.
The Dent Wizard guys who have been at it a while develop a real skill for getting great results. If you decide to go this route, get a guy who works the luxury dealerships such as BMW or Lexus.

Wishin I Still Had The FD
Sounds like you're one happy hymen!
I know what you mean about inflicting damage to your own car. I've done some stupid things just out of carelessness.

STUCK. I got SNOWNED!!!!!
iTrader: (7)
that's good to hear!
90% of the dings on my 10AE (well probably100% actually) and there are very few
are all a result of being too close to another car and getting dinged in my driveway.
my FD on the other hand, aside from being keyed has totally flawless panels, wish they had "painless key scratch removal"
