3rd gear back kick?
So when I just drive normally and have my hand resting on the shifter while I'm in 3rd, when I let off the throttle the shifter will sorta kick back 2-3 times towards the center of the console, nothing major but this is the only gear that I experience this.
Has anyone had this happen to you?

you know what? This hasn't happened to me, but........I know you probably already thought of this but it could possibly be something to do with your synchros, maybe they not alligned properly or something. I'm not sure though.
That happens to me too! But, the shifter is still in the third gear. I guess your shifter is still in also. However, I've seen a car that has a shifter bounch back to nautual after lifting gas padel. Hope that would not happen to us.

i think when you let off gas, the engine and trans move. that is what you feel. You think the shifter move, but actually the whole thing move.
just watch it, and you see with on/off throlte

I once owned a car (you don't want to know make and model) that used to jump out of reverse. There was a loud noise when this happened. It started doing the same in 3rd gear.
At the time, I had 250+ thousand miles on the car and I don't think the transmission oil had ever been replaced - just topped.
For my car, it was simply wear - the detents that held it in gear were worn out.
