So after clutch change with 3months sitting and battery unplugged since.. having some issues now .. first is hard getting it started, coolant temp stays halfway even after 20-30mins of ideling fans are definitely not comming on since it over heated once .. and does the ecu have to be reset/relearn from sitting a few months .. i have the apexi unit
It takes alot longer to start it now .. took several tries 10+ before it started to idle.. first low idles then dies few tries afterwards it finally idles normal.. i’m question the stock coolant temp since i had it overheat once yesterday with coolant coming out from under the cap and temp gauge climbing due to fans not comming on. Was trying to get the fans to kick in by letting engine idle for over 20mins but stock temp gauge barely past halfway mark..
No need to reset the ECU, car should start right up with a good battery. Mine often sits 5+ months during winter with the battery stored indoor, it starts up normally after priming the oil system with the EGI fuse off.
What issue are you having once you got it started? Just the fans not coming on?
Once it finally starts everything seems normal.. im more concerned about the fans not comming on after a long period of it idleing 20mins + even tho the temp gauge shows halfway.. could a false reading from the coolant sensor be the reason the fans arnt kicking on? I read there are a few relays related to the fans .. just stomped why it overheated since nothing was messed with other then changing out the clutch..
also noticed the greddy bov developed some kinda vacuum suction under the top half thru a tiny hole
