...still, an interesting project. And yes, I know, the car has some slightly inaccurate and a tad ricey features to some (including myself), but again, an interesting project.

Very cool. I did CAD from 1980-1990. I started using Autocad on a 10MHz 286 with a 20MB Hard drive. Things have progressed just a tad since then : )

Very nice work! I was extremely interested in this field, but went down the path to become an engineer instead. When I see images like this it always makes me wonder what type of 3D modeling was used in order to design the components of the RX-7.

Again excellent work!

Is this your project?

That is *very* good work. I wonder if the guy will share the model when it's done.

that is really nice kento. craftsmanship and quality look great. im curious to know if you used nurbs converted to polys or just polygons for your project.

so what do i have to do to get a copy of the working file from you?

If only video game companies took this much time and effort to make vehicles in games look this real.

It looks great so far, man. I can't wait to see it develop more, then with some color...oOOOo

Man, that makes anything I ever did in CAD look like a freakin etch a sketch. Of course I did mostly 2d architectural stuff (fire sprinkler piping layouts). Really neat, wish I was that talented, or motivated to learn to be that talented at least.

Hey Kento, is this a model you created. If so, did you use a digitizer to get a point cloud of all the components? Can you output IGES files? Very nice work by the way!

I don't think Kento did it, I think he was just sharing a cool link. I was wondering the same thing about getting the data in. I wouldn't even attempt something like that unless I worked in a place that had a 3d laser or sonic scanner.

Simply amazing. It like looking at the real thing with all that amount of detail you put in it.

You really have some great skills and talent. My compliments. Lets us know when the project is finished please.

I picked up a Tamiya RX-7 model, and if I had the opportunity to use a scanner I would totally love to do it. Especially one with a tracing arm - then I could just trace curves and use those to directly build NURBs surfaces.

That's a good idea....A scanner that would do a full size would be even better!
