First time A/F was in the mid 11's tuning with Chris Ott at Rotary Performance. Not sure on the second time while tuning with Steve Kan.

I know what you mean about remans and that same can be said for some of the motors I've seen out of well known "big name" builders. You often get what you pay for with a reman and shouldn't expect to break any records.

I've been happy with my motor from Rotary Performance/rx7.com. Still ticking with about 39K miles. As for paying attention to detail, they are the only builder I know of that uses a flow bench to verify their ports flow equally. Once built, they also run the engine for 6 hours on a test stand and do compression test.

Don't bother buying new OEM Solenoids. If you are going to get them than get the Axiom kit, you will blow out the stock ones at 17psi.

The set-up you are visualizing is basically what I'm currently running (I'm unported as far as I'm aware though). Expect solenoid problems, boost leaks, and hot temps. When it's all clicking and happy it's BEAST! But be ready to fix things ^_^

Some of you are bringing Modified turbos into this thread. We are not comparing apples to oranges here.

Gordon,

Yes RP in Dallas. Chris Ott is Ari's partner. He primarily builds the motors and does tuning while Ari stays busy with the parts business.

This is true, though to be honest I did not see any real gains under 1 bar when I switched to BNR's. What I mean by that is that I made 280whp @ .85 bar on my stock twins, and I made 280whp @ .85 bar on my BNR's. To be fair I think that the BNR's and stockers are comparable (power/response wise) until you go beyond the stockers efficiency level.
