370 rwhp with Stage 2 BNRs (sequential)
370 rwhp with Stage 2 BNRs (sequential)
I finally got my rwhp problem figured out and had Dave install a used differential and my hp jumped up considerably. These are the Stage 2s running sequentially through a HF cat at 15 psi. This sounds about right since one other dynoed at 386 rwhp at 15 psi with all the bolt-ons and a midpipe (stage 2s). I won't have a dyno sheet for a week or 2 but Dave at KDR just emailed me today. With conservative tuning, I have to say I'm pretty happy with the results. I also have unclipped wheels since I wanted more low-end power. Should be very streetable. Don't know a/f's but Dave usually tunes very conservative, around 11.1-11.2. Stage 3s should yield some more power especially setup non-seq like Stephen's car. Not too bad for twins at 15 psi and a HF cat. Will keep posted
Thanks guys...and I know, it's been a while since I've had a car that has run 100% - it's been one thing after another..and this differential thing has baffled everyone - well, that was a $100 fix thanks to RTS3GEN for the used diff and Dave at KDR for figuring out why I was only getting 300 rwhp at 10 psi and 16 psi.
- I decided to stay at 15 psi since it is running sequential and that is plenty of power for me on the street. With a midpipe and 17 psi I'm sure it would go over 400 but I'm happy with 370 rwhp and a MUCH quieter car. I'm curious to see my low-mid range compared to Stephen's BNR Stage 3s running non-seq with a midpipe. Can't wait to pick er up

Glad to hear some positive results Barry. Still wanting to sell it now?
Who ever does get it will have a car in perfect running condition, a rarity on higher HP cars.
Post a dyno, I'd like to see the curve on it. I should be heading to the dyno soon as well, 99 spec's tuned for 15 psi, resonated mp. See how it turns out.

Yeah, it's been up there for over 4 months
- Dave gets the flu, 2 feet of snow, differentials that suck - **** happens...but I get to go from my 100 rwhp Saturn LS200 to a high HP supercar - it's going to take some getting used to
I talked to my wife about selling the car and I think I might hold on to it till atleast the end of summer. I thought the RX8 might decline the sales but after reading about some road tests of the RX8 - especially stacked up against the 350Z, I was pretty dissappointed in the RX8 numbers and handling. But since I got around the numbers I wanted I should be able to get decent money for it.
Hey Tim, at 15 psi with the 99s and a midpipe I'm sure you'll hit atleast 350-360 rwhp with conservative tuning - I hope you get more though - keep us posted

hey jason, didn't you have a dyno appointment sometime this month - I've been watching
I would think since you're running a HF cat that your numbers should be right with mine at 15 psi - now get those numbers
- I'll get a dyno sheet soon...
