2nd gen leading coil for FD? will it work?

I've been having what I believe to be ignition problems.
My car is running really rough, rich, hard to start. I checked the compression to see if the engine was okay, it seemed fine, put new wires, spark plugs. Nothing seemed to work. I checked the spark and it was very faint. It was like a human hair firing. I bought two new coils for the trailing (MSD SS 8207). I also bought a MSD 6A for the Leading. For some reason the MSD 6A didn't work. I sent it back and their sending a new one. I found a second gen leading coil with igniter, I heard these are a little better than the third gens. Has anybody swapped this coil for the 3rd gens? Let me know if you think this is alright.

Thanks

how did you determine your coils were bad?

yes, they will work. my friend had problems with his jaccob ign blowing out his leading coils. He finally changed to a second gen leading coil, and no more blowing the coils.

yes it works great. you can even mount it where the stock leading coil used to sit, with a little trimming of the bracket.
