You may be able to get a few more FD folks on board if Rogue / Rogue's fabricator would be willing to do another batch

The main hoop looks low, but I suppose the numbers don't lie

Congrats on the new 7-point!

My Autopower has grade 5 bolts (which SCCA point in time was happy with - I may swap out)

An M8 8.8 or M10 10.9 should do it
I'm going to have to buy some backing plates, so I think I'll just order a hardware kit (it's *probably* a Cusco but I suspect these JDM bolt-in cages are all more or less the same design).
Turns out they won't ship to home address, so I'm going to have to arrange shipping to a place of business...

It's probably not even proper SFI-rated padding, more like a thin foam sleeve intended to keep the car inspectors happy.
Summit's prices are much more reasonable, but shipping is too expensive.

Dug out some topical paperwork out from the basement

Hard to eye where the harness would mount related to the seat from rollbar to rollbar without installation and seat mounted reference, but another piece for consideration on harness mount points for your roll bar

I know I know I could have just searched easily online with helpful links, but what's the fun in that?!

I'm not sure (either way) about the strut tower mount in terms of strength, but it is a nice looking bar. I'd be interested if they consider remaking them.

If I was going ot pay $2500, I'd have a motorsports shop do something custom welded.
FWIW, you can buy a race-grade weld-in kit for the FD from the UK/EU for about $700(?) plus shipping (several hundred dollars).
I briefly considered this option, I don't really trust that my local shops would be able to install a weld-in kit properly. They're a bit too shade tree.
Plus, the labor would be *significiant.*

Tough part about welded bar/cage is, you're pretty committed to having a gutted interior. I've had to have my bar out for multiple installs that needed wiring, etc., and the bins needed to come out, and whatnot.

I asked as well with the same response. Hopefully they will produce another batch. I’m definitely ready to buy

I finally installed my Cusco cage. Thankfully, my seat doesn't touch the cage. My helmet will probably just touch the bar. Might have to drive with my head cocked slightly.
My right leg does graze the front bar when I heel-toe, but I doubt it will bother me when driving. If I does, I will put some slippery tape on it.

I would pad the **** out of it... you get in any kind of accident and knock your bare head on that bar, you may be finger-painting RX7s the rest of your life.

It is padded. I don't drive the car without a helmet. Haha.

Update for folks looking for a rollbar that clear a sunroof. There should be an option available very soon from “Light Speed and Fab” located outside Louisville, KY.

Pics from my shell:

Possibly due to the picture, if there's any competition bent, I might double check it complies with whatever is required. The allowance here normally for the main hoop is +/- 10 degree from vertical

I have one in my car without back seats- not what you're looking for but if you want specific pics text me your number and I can take some.

Saw this posted on facebook, just want some opinions of this roll bar, some comments mentioned that this might not pass some associations for racing.

@7-uprew what exactly do you mean by competition? FWIW that is my shell that Light Speed and Fab has been using to fit the rollbar. They had a Samberg rollbar on-hand, so it’s going to be very similar for that.

As far as competition goes, that shell is going to be a future time attack car for Gridlife. Based on what I’ve seen pass Gridlife TA tech, the bolt in rollbar should be suitable for my needs. If it’s serious wheel-to-wheel competition you’re considering, you’d want a welded in rollbar with a door bar, a-pillar, etc. and there would be no need to work around the interior panels.

Hope that helps. I am told I should have the shell and rollbar back in about 3 weeks, so I can do a writeup then.

7-uprew may be referring to the layback angle on that main bar. I saw lightspeed mention on their facebook post that it's 20°. I don't know what the various rule books say about this, though.
