1. You shouldn't have a boost spike with a DP and intake, so the answer is no. You have another problem, and the profec won't solve it.

2. Tough to say without seeing it. Can't help you there.

1. Adam, for once I disagree with you... I have seen people get boost spikes with just an intake and dp. The profec should solve it. Adam may be right that there may be a problem though -- how bad are your spikes?

2. As Adam said, need more info. Check the coupler at the y-pipe and cross-over tube, but I doubt that's it if you are having boost spikes.

I don't claim to know everything about FD's(that would be Ron Miller ). But, I have not seen an FD with these mods, that was operating properly, with a boost spike. The one's I have seen with spikes always had other problems. You can reduce your boost with a profec, and that may eliminate the spike, but I suspect something else is wrong. Of course, I could be the something else......

i'm getting spikes in the 14psi range which quickly go back to 10 psi. i also seem to be noticing a little louder turbo noise that started roughly when the spikes did. i should mention that i'm running poor man's non-seq. also, i was getting spikes that were similar prior to the dp, with just the intake and hard intake pipes. any suggestions on what else could cause the spikes.
the couplers are turbohose.com silicon couplers that are less than a week old, so i know they are not the oil problem. but they did solve the previous oil problem.

just to update the situation:
i just went out now that it has cooled down and the car has cooled off a little and i'm now getting HUGE spikes. i saw almost 17 psi right before i soiled my pants and lifted off. what are other causes of boost spikes? does it matter that i do not have a pill or a valve in the prespool vacuum line? since i am running non-seq, i didn't think i needed a valve or a pill. would a valve in that line help at all? also, i can say that when i get the spike, it doesn't feel like all that boost is making it into the engine. it almost feels like it's venting off until the spike goes away. after the spike, the car seems to pull harder at the stock boost level than it does during the spike. any help is appreciated. i'm now going to turn the boost way down to save the motor.

Check your WG actuator and solenoids.

Check to see if the small hose running from the nipple on the primary turbo housing is still connected to the wastegate actuator.
