2 New Mods Installed: Kaaz and Diff Mounts

Radkins and I finished up the install of my new Kaaz LSD and Pettit solid racing mounts for the diff. The car really isn't all that different, the kaaz clunks a little at slow corning speeds, but its nothing like i thought it was going to be. I'm still getting crazy wheel hop, but i wasn't expecting it to go away. New toe links, trailing arms and a diff brace are next in line, as well as tires.

A big thanks to Radkins for helping me install it.

And here is a pic or both our cars sitting in Radkins garage, mine is the one of the lift, obviously.

A garage with a lift...dreamy.

Btw, I have a kaaz, toe links, trailing arms, eibach springs, koni shocks and I get MASSIVE, bone jarring wheel hop. Post up how the diff brace works out when you get it.

See hop here, 2nd run: http://www.panekmechanik.com/Videos/...cil%20Sept.wmv

What tires are you running, i've heard that better tires won't hop as bad or at all. I let off when i get wheel hop like that. When my new wheels get in, im going to put a drag radial on the stock wheels and see if they cure the hop at the strip.

I was running fairly new Bridgestone S-03s with full pressure. By that run I was so fed up I just dropped the clutch at 7k, I know it's bad. But I ran a 12.8 on these tires with a 2.0 60ft and some wheel hop once, musta just gotten lucky. Next time I go I'll drop the pressure to maybe 15psi and try.

As for the kaaz, what locking % did you set it up with? If I remember it comes set at 100%. Mine was set at 60% and I don't get too much clunking, not nearly enough to bother me.

I'm not sure what the locking % is, i bought the Kaaz from spoolin93r1 last summer already installed in the pumpkin. The clunking doesn't bother me at all.

The biggest difference to me has been that the rear pushes out more while powering through a turn. The clunking is fine, lets ya know its working.

How bad were your diff mounts, and do the new ones seem to make a difference? My stockers were acceptable so I kept em.

One of the mounts was broken, the other looked ok. I'm not sure how much of a difference it has made, i was only in the car for about 10 minutes. I did a small launch to see if the hop was still as bad and thats about it.
