Well the decision, at least for now, is no longer in my control. The owner has decided to keep the car for now. He's a domestic guy (I saw like 10-15 cars sitting at his property, and owns a body shop. He's not a JDM fan, but his 30 year old son is, and was apparently pissed he was going to sell the car (strikes me as a little weird if the guy's had the car for 6+ years and it just sat there).

Anyway, I appreciate all the feedback in this thread and will spend time doing more research on this cars to get ready for the next opportunity!

not surprising, maybe he was thinking it was going to be his one day and when he found out it was getting sold he got pissed... Anyway, you're welcome to keep learning and asking questions so that once you find your car you're more prepared!
