1993 RX7 for sale... scam?

Hey guys I recently came across a car on autotrader for $4600. I talked to the woman who says she is in England. She says the car is in good running order with about 100,000 miles always been garage kept and all. She sent me pictures of the car, I just wanted to know if this car is legit or if she got pictures of this car somewhere on the web. It seems to me an extremly good deal or a scam... I just wanted some input. Thanks guys.

Sounds fishy...with all those exterior mods....Does she have a VIN number for you? Is the $$ in pounds or USD?? It's in England?? Tread carefully.......

i would say it`s a scam also. I dont know of a woman in the uk with that actual car who is a member of any of the uk forums. Also take a look at the white car in the background..it has a white rear plate..england have yellow rear plates..why would she want a left hooker in the uk when we drive right hookers?

That is sort of what I was thinking myself, the pictures to me almost look familiar. The price is in USD she claims that she moved from New York to England and priced the car to sell, I am not clear on the present location though. She seems really antsy to get it sold, she said she would like it done before Christmas which I do not believe will happen either way.

Thanks guys, any other input?

That car looks familiar, can't quite put my finger on where I've seen it before. I think there were some scams a little while back like this. People based in England, something about them not wanting to ship it...can't really remember.

I was looking into one of these, and the seller sent em an email to do the transaction through squaretrade. Each email looked perfect in every way, grammar was right, looked like it came from squaretrade, everything. It wasn't untill I checked on the case number that I found out it was a scam. Be VERY apprehensive about sending money anywhere. 99% of out-of-country cars for sale are scams, it's absolutely mind-boggling. Also, if the price is too good to be true, then it is. People that have these cars know what they have. They dont's just dump them off for under 5k when they are in great condition. Even a perfect condition FD with a blown engine is worth more than that.

As for the pictures:

Ask her why she has a left hand drive car in England. VIN, would they be willing to use an escrow service of YOUR choice, not there's for reasons of above explained scam.

well i'm fairly new here but...... SCAM!!! look at the white cars licence plate it is a North American plate, look at the shape of it, to my understandings, all the Erupoean countries have the really slim and wide shaped palte that one there represents an Amreican, or Canadian one. To my Understanding. ask her where she took the pic of tyhe sun roof, if you notice it is inside, and right beside another car (not sure what type, maybee a FC) and why she never took the sunroof pic out side with the others.

What rock have you been living under to think this could actually be legit? Unless you were born yesterday you would know it's obviously a scam. It seems like these type of threads are posted every week. Is it just me, or are people getting dumber and dumber every day? Whatever happened to common sense?

These SCAMMERS are taken pics from legit people and posting them on autotrader for pennies on the dollar. I have personally read 3 or 4 of the ads and everytime anyone ask "recently moved to England, their car was shipped to England and it cost them to much to register and they rather sell". If memory serves me right they have listed 2 Red , 3 Yellow and 2 White FD's all with the same story line and all thru "squaretrade" for your safety and their's.
LOL
