15psi+ on stock ecu

i have a 3rd gen with many upgrades

Iwas told once a way to bypass the ecu in order to let the boost go over 15psi with stock turbo and stock ecu

that was something to do with a resistor on a vaccum sensor.

if any one knows please help me out.

are you planning to do this with a stock engine?, because you are not supposed to run your stock engine over 12 psi .some even say 10 psi.(unless you have money to burn)

You can try to run 15 psi on the stock ECU. The only question is how many times can you do it before you blow a seal. 5 times?? 10 times?? Maybe more ........

The stock turbos will run 15 psi. Most people don't recommend it because it is pretty hard on them.

hahah good idea...please stop thinking about this. You can do it with a boost controller no problem but I don't think you would like the end results too much. Stock turbos and 15 lbs feels great actually but they burn out pretty fast like that.

I think the max boost you can run is 14 psi for the stock turbos. The problem is, the stock ECU can't handle that and you will be runnin' very lean. Hence denonation and a motor rebuild. If I were you, i wouldn't do that. Go single and enjoy a less complicated engine bay, more horses, and a good time.

Yeah you can't push the stock ECU past 14 psi. I wouldn't feel safe pushing it past 12 or 13 personally. If I were you I would get a stand alone ECU and enjoy more boost safely. I'd rather spend the money on that than on a rebuild.

You can DEFINITELY run a stock ported engine at 12psi with no problems. Who told you that it was a bad idea to go over 10psi because they were wrong. I have seen people run single turbos at 18psi on a "stock" engine. I think you are confused. Dont run 15psi on a stock ecu it would be a bad idea. Actually you would probably hit fuel cut real quick trying to run that much psi on a stock ecu so I dont know if you could even do it successfully.

Well, it shouldn't be that difficult to add a PFC and larger injectors/fuel pump then....

stock ECU = 10psi, that's it. you get 3, maybe 4 air flow mods @ 10 psi, that's it. if you think it's safe to run more, do whatever you want, but if you lean out and blow the motor blame it on ignorance and not the rotary engine.

get a stand alone ECU and start tuning.

Don't bother trying to make a "fuel cut defenser" for the FD to avoid fuel cut. Running an FCD and 15 psi on the stock ECU will almost certainly blow the engine. It will be too lean. It would be better to get a PowerFC (no fuel cut, adjustable fuel, ignition, and boost).

The problem is the amount of fuel you're providing with the stock ECU. Too little fuel = running lean = detonation = BOOM even with that streetport.

Trust me, these guys were beating me down in my other thread just for hitting 12 (TWELVE!) psi on the stock ECU with only a CB and DP! You don't want to try 15 psi on the stocker, if you even can considering fuel cut like the other guy said.

I'll, uh, third, the fuel cut hypothesis. Even with 1600's if the ecu cuts fuel you could still run lean, so if you are going to do this regardless of the input here then just make sure the AFC is not letting the computer think it is hitting the boost level that fuel cut occurs at....and what stock 3rd gen turbos had ball bearings? Good luck doin your own thing, just be careful.

he has J-spec twin turbos that are ball bearing huh?? where did you get those because I havent heard of them. Also, and I think you are full of **** BUT if you are running a 3mm sealed and ported engine with an FMIC and larger injectors you have spent some money on that engine so you would be insane to risk blowing it up when you can put down $400 or so for a used Pettit unlimited ecu and run 14psi pretty safely. Also what are you running for a fuel pump, having those larger injectors on the stock pump isnt doing you much good.

I have Japan spec twins Type RS (1999) turbos. They are not ball-bearing type. TII's full of it. Time to ignore him...
