Good used longblock $2,000.00
Rebuild $1500.00
install-$1500-2000
Single Kit-$2k
Fuel-$500.00

Thats $7500.00 right there and you are just getting started. Custom exhaust$1k, and Im sure there will be another $2k of random stuff I am not considering.

Just buy an fd, way better car. Unless you need a car seat in the back I dont understand the reason for swapping a torque less turbo rotary into a heavier platform.

i ordered a motor from tiger whatever and had luck with my first motor. then my buddy ordered from them and didnt have the same luck its a gamble. Also you will need many things custom made to make this swap work. like everyone is saying its going to be around 10k. I would budget for that and if you come up short, good for you but were just being honest cause we've gone down these roads

run a search on this swap and see if you can contact some of the guys that have done it. off the top of my head, i can think if 3 (2 REWs and 1 RE). i know two of them are here, on this board, but maybe you should sign up over at Rx8Club because you can probably get more useful tidbits over there. the Rx-8s are old enough to have a few solid, trustworthy resources now.
