Damn thats sad. Are you going to own another fd in the future? Nice fd btw
|
good looking car!!!...Why did you sell it?
|
That is sad. I dont think that I could let mine go. I worked to long to get mine.
Where did you get the center console done at. Im very interested. |
Wow, the FD's Driver's side tires are halfway off the ramp in the last photo, and the car is nearly falling off in the photo before that...
Someone needs to direct the driver better! There's so much room to work with too! I've done some scarey ramp/tow work with previous cars of mine and I'm glad I had a better spotter than you did! :P |
Interesting mods, a few questions.
Stock rad Single turbo FMIC Must equal overheating? Tight elbow on compressor outlet seems like it would restrict flow quite a bit? Why the relocated oil filter? |
the engine bay looks amazing. you went all out with the steel braided lines.....braided PS lines :)

Why the relocated oil filter? it's a much larger filter unit than the stock one, as you can see....and I did it because i like clean oil, good for the engine :) The effect of the piping is unknown, I was perfectly happy with spool and hadn't investigated redoing the IC piping, I never had overheating issues, but I did have a modified (tightly clearanced) water pump setup and a 34row oil cooler |

Very nice car you had there, just look at this situation as a new beginning!
-Adam |
I was just wondering about the center console and how you got that finish look on it. Not the relocation of the buttons but the console's color.
|
had a body shop paint the pieces, so it has the same finish as the outside of the car
|
as promised, here's pics of the new toy...94 RT/10 with 24k miles on it

|

omg, i bet you couldnt break your smile when you saw this car in your driveway..damn, looking at you get your viper is killing me cause i still have to wait for mine..but ill be getting a GTS..:) |
Looks great! Is that one of the early models that doesn't have any door windows? You should get some of the 98+ style wheels, or maybe you've got something else in mind? :) anyway, looks great! I'm sure you'll have fun with her
|
car looks good. sucks to have to say goodbye

turbojeff you are experienced in RX-7s but don't know about his setup so you shouldn't make those comments. I had every mod on my 94 with the stock radiator being the only thing I didn't upgrade and a greddy 3 row infront of it. My car never got very far past 83C. The stock radiator works great, just like a lot of other info on the forum it's passed on from one person to another not ness. fact
boostgasm nice taste in cars! your RX-7 looked well done I went through the same thing twice with the RX-7s and I really enjoyed the experience but now it's time to move on. Here's what used to be and some last tow pics of the 7s -yanni |
Nice car. If you don't mind me asking. What did you pay for it?
|
How much u sold the car for ? It's a damm nice car.

sold my 7 for $24k, picked up the viper for right at $30k |
The big question is, Which one is faster? I would assume a single turbo rx7 should work a 94 viper. The rx7 should also tear it up in the turns. But then again, you OWN a viper, and that says alot. Ive always wanted a viper. Hope you have tons of fun with it.
YOU WILL BE BACK! lol Adam |
his seven was the fastest car I've riden in (at 19psi, he tuned higher but I never got a ride before he sold it)...he told me the seven is faster, but totally different power.
its truely a beautiful car...I rode in it two days ago..........okay it was only in a parking lot, but I waiting for my turn to drive it :D |
You think FD3S's have issues?? hahahaha
Early Vipers are horrid. Not only are they not so good looking. They have all kinda mechanical electrical issues. Knew a guy with early Vipers and I quote " worse car he ever owned" - Leaky targa tops - quirky electrical stuff, like being locked out the car because door locks won't work and a host of other issues. If it isn't 98+ Viper.. Good luck... You probabably better off with the FD, and probably faster and more reliable.. Nothing like a car built in the 80's or early 90's in the good ole US of A. |
nold vipers look MUCH better than the new ones.
congrats on the car, ive always wanted a viper. i may use a viper rear on my car when i decide to go to a beefier diff. have fun with it. |
That is a pretty nice looking 3rd gen. Really clean. I even like the sleek lights which generally speaking I am not a big fan of. Which ones are those?
Good luck with the new car. |

Another jealous assgoblin I love it! Yes the viper is ugly and he's not going to be able to get in it'll lock him out all the time it's gonna suuuck!! |
The viper's potential for power is much higher, so it would seem like a step up if that's what you are looking for, Congrats. I really like the "coupe" vipers in the darker colors.
$24K is a nice way to say goodbye. ;) X... |
Nice viper..i have a feeling you will be back w/ a 3 rotor in the future!

YOU WILL BE BACK! lol Adam you can start off in just about any gear, it has ridiculous torque...and for the fun part--- EVERYBODY STARES and takes pictures and follows you, surrenders their first and only daughters, wants rides, begs to pop the hood.....traffic stops, it's a surreal experience and it occurs everytime i take it out for a spin |

Good luck with the new car. exciting experience, WOT, upper 7K+, high boost, I'm looking down at two laptops, CRASH!/BANG!/SPARKS, I look up, WTF?!?, I thought electrical sparks were flying out of the crack b/t the hood and fender...I find out the cover flew off and shattered when it hit the windshield. I guess the clear plastic against the sky looked like the engine was arcing. |

yanni, you have a viper too???
|
damn i would hate to see that go, now after seeing yours i wish i got a black one lol.
are u gonna get another one? |
I always loved the way vipers looked,so i took one out for a test ride at a dealership. It was a red 97 gts with white stripes with 39,000 miles. This was when i had my last fd,back in 2000.To make a long story short,i was not impressed with it at all.It rode too stiff, the sidepipes were too loud, the front tires wandered all over the place, the clutch and brake were too close together,it was too hot inside the car,and the stereo sucked. But it did draw a lot of attention.with all the cops around here, not a good idea.I liked my 98 c5 mn6 better.

really? thats weird, it must have been a lemon cause the one i drove it actually rode better than my FD now..unless my fd sucks lol with the windows up, you barely get wind noise (which is good for a sports car), only thing that sucked is that it tends to fishtail easy so you have to be good with the throttle and hard turns.i thought the nose was very firm which was good since its nose heavy and the front is long..clutch and brake pedals were fine, i didnt listen to the radio at the time lol and it was around fall so i didnt feel hot.. i had a good experience with my test drive :) |
