$355 for a strut tower bar- WHAT MORONS!

I watched this auction just for ***** and giggles..........glad to see there are still people out there with more money than f'ing brains.............

You gotta laugh.

I'm guessing my $20 no-name strut bar does about 99% the same thing, and, err, leaves me about $335 left over for...................

C-ya.

Well..

It IS..the original RX7 strut bar..not any other strut bar..although I admit I wouldn't pay that much for one.

Now what would be idiotic, would be if some ricer bought it for his car even though it doesn't fit.

That is getting pretty steep for a OEM bar, although it is much nicer IMHO than any aftermarket bars.

The R1 bar is better than any other factory bar also, on R2s they changed to a cheaper design, eliminating both the length adjustment and the Heim joint.

The cheapy aftermarket bars probably do almost the same job. I still stand by my statement that you can't tell the difference with and without, well 99.99% of the people can't tell.

Looks do matter, the R1 bar wins hands down. I'd pay up to about $250 for one (if I didn't have one already).

Jeff
R1 bar with chrome ends, nothing looks better.

Perhaps I should re-phrase.............

$200 seems to be the going price................that's about what I expected it to end up at ................

$355 (almost double that) is Moronic..............

JMHO..............

$300 new? I was under the impression (from some older posts) that the stock R1 strut bar new was more like $500+ from a Mazda dealer...

Hell, If my Fd came with one, I have a touring, I'd sell it on Ebay for 355.00 and then buy the $20.00 and pocket the 335.00...lol

Actually I think the R1 bar is something like $800 from the dealer. Yeah, that is crazy.

I picked mine up used from a CYM for $200 I believe. It was in great condition. I bought it cause at that time I thought I was going to buy a touring, but ended up getting a R2. So now I have this extra bar sitting around. Probably gonna hang it up on the wall or something.

Yep.. $335.00 that could go to something more important, I know you guys may disagree but there ain't a whole lot of difference to me between the $20.00 and the genuine Mazda one. Sure one may be prettier, but when you have a $20.00 bar and $335.00 spent somewhere else how often are you going to look under your hood and say "I wish I would have paid $300.00+(or even $200.00) for a R1/R2 bar.."??

It's gotta be the red color.........

My new business plan is:

Buy POS strut bars, like mine: $20
Red spray paint for brace: $.10
Ebay ad for red POS brace: $1.50

Some dumbass bidding his ***** off on the red brace on ebay, after I advertise it as "looking like the JDM, acting like the JDM, but with an additional 15 RWHP":

PRICELESS!!!!

This is from JT Imports, I'm sure a Mazda Dealer is much more.
