When to start driving Procedure

Am reevaluating my procedure as to when to start driving on first start up. For years I have let the car idle until the oil temps got to about 140F before taking off. Now it is true that one should not boost until the engine is at operating temps and that is not what I want to discuss. However since a lot of wear occurs on start-up am thinking it might be best to get the engine to operating temps the quickest hence start driving but certainly keeping the engine load low and Revs low. For some this might be an issue with cold temperature behavior such as stalling but that is not an issue for me on current tune and recent rebuild.

So question is: better to let idle and get car to temps or start driving but with a light foot on the throttle?

Everything I've ever read says just get in and drive.

I see no reason to let the car idle excessively. Just drive it and get it up to temp ASAP, clearly being sympathetic with your right foot until the car is warmed up.

I start it, put on my seat belt, and then drive easy until its warmed up. No reason to let it sit and idle.

This. I don't shift past 3K until it's fully warmed up, which on my PFC is 85C.

I wait until my water temps on the PFC reach 40C. The I slowly, and as quietly as possible, drive out of my neighbourhood. My car is always warmed up (80C on the PFC) by the time that I reach the main road.
