SakeBomb Garage NEW Wilwood *SPORT* BRAKE KIT (FD3S RX-7)

SakeBomb Garage is excited to announce our new Wilwood Sport Brake Kit for the FD!

Pick up now during Black Friday!! Use Coupon Code: BlackFriday2019 at checkout!

https://www.sakebombgarage.com/wilwo...kit-fd3s-rx-7/

Building on our success of our previous systems, we designed this brake kit, with the intention of bringing a cost effective brake kit to the enthusiast market. We have designed this brake kit around the RX8 Sport rotor, a bolt on 323x25mm disc (compared to the OEM FD rotor - 294x22mm) for a high performing brake kit that does not break the bank!

A feature unique to our kit is the ability to further upgrade each component if you so choose. Our bracket has been designed to accommodate two different rotors, either the stock RX8 rotor or SBG two piece directional rotor, with the option to upgrade to the latter by simply flipping the bracket. Depending on option selected, we offer two different Wilwood calipers each tailored to each rotor selected to best suite brake bias.

Our Package Includes:
  • Wilwood Forged Superlight Calipers
  • “Dual sided” 6061 Billet Caliper Mounting Brackets
  • RX8 Sport rotors
  • Extreme-grade hardware
  • DOT Approved Stainless Steel Brake Lines with dirt/abrasion sleeves
  • Full Pictorial Installation Guide
  • *17" Wheels Required
Wilwood Forged Superlight Calipers:
Ultra-Lightweight Forged Aluminum Construction
Durable Hard Gray Anodized Finish (*Optional Black or Red Powdercoat)
Stainless Steel 4 Piston Design
MASSIVE 20mm Thick Brake Pad to Prevent Caliper Heat Transfer (many options available for pads from every pad company)
Thick Pads Provide Extremely Long Life and Reduce Frequency of Replacement

Utilizing a 20mm thick brake pad (with 43-50mm pad annulus) many other brake kits use a 12-17mm pad by comparison, not only add an additional thermal barrier between the rotor and caliper, offer significantly increased pad replacement intervals. The Super Lite caliper uses a common pad shape, replacing pads will also be significantly cheaper and easier to source.

*Brake pads for this caliper are readily available from nearly every pad manufacturer. As pad choice varies greatly depending on personal preference, application, and desired cost, we decided not to include pads to reduce the total cost. We have many pads in stock from many manufacturers, or you can supply the pads separately.

RX8 Rotors:
323mm x 25mm rotor
Low cost consumables
Increased thermal capacity over stock

You can't beat the price, at this point any FD running more than stock power levels with larger wheels should be considering this upgrade....... barely a price increase vs the standard OEM size rotors/pads/lines upgrade

Any idea what the weight difference is between the stock caliper vs the willwood aluminum caliper? I assume it's favorable but I'm curious. I'm not familiar with this setup, are there any reviews or data I can peek at?

This looks great.

I assume it works well with the stock brake bias and rear brakes and the SBG Competition Rear Brake System? I'm also looking at the Wilwood Track-Day Brake System.

According to this older thread, the stock calipers are about 6.2 lbs: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati.../#post12108875

And the Wilwood calipers are about 4.1 lbs:

Good find on the old thread. And if I'm reading that picture correctly, the Wilwood caliper is 4lbs 13oz which is a lot closer to 5lbs. Still lighter than stock which is a bonus.

Wow, this is a pretty ingenious setup. Nice use of off the shelf RX8 rotors to make a budget upgrade to the stock brakes. The RX8 has been praised for its braking performance.

Nice. Barely heavier than the AP CP8350 caliper (4.58lbs)

I assume it uses 35mm pistons... can't see the SBG 2-piece rotors sold separately on their website.
