Rims fitting

Hi everyone I have an FD. Just got myself a Rays

Put them on the car and see but your sizing is not going to look good especially on a stock body. They are 10j so your tire choice will be determined by the width of the wheel.

Wheel sizing choices are so well documented at this point that no one should have any questions like this anymore or have trouble selecting wheel and tire sizes.

18x10 +40 will fit 255/35-18 on FD which is a pretty decent tire sidewall stretch depending on tire model.

265/35-18 will fit the rear, but most 265/35-18 are too large diameter to fit up front without rubbing inside the fenderwell when turning.

You are looking for 24.8-25" tall tire for up front. Front fenders are going to require a fender roll for any fitment that isnt going to look like the sunken battleship.

Its far better to carefully roll them ahead of time than have the tire grab the lip and wrinkle the fender.

Why did you buy wheels without knowing if they’ll fit?
And why is this thread taking a poll?

Vote for the BEST reason to buy wheels BEFORE knowing if they fit:

1. I fell down and bumped my head

2. I partied with Willie Nelson

3. Went for drinks with Bill Cosby and woke up in bed with the wheels

There is a long wheel fitting thread on here. It was either posted or a link.

The wheels in the pic posted above are 18x8J (I believe) offset "42"

The 245 x 40 tires were just out of range with the car lowered about 1/2"

In any event resorted to 235/35 and normal ride height.

Thats odd. Since the Mazdaspeed catalogue has the wheels with 17x8.5 at 40 offset and the rears at 9.5 with a 38 offset.
planning to run 245/40 at the front and 255/40 on the rears.

Hope my fronts don’t get caught on anything…

There were 18" Mazdaspeed wheels as well. Not sure what the tire recommendation was. Or offsets.

Table above gives 245/40 for 17" rims with 38 offset.

17x10 CCW Classics squared with a 45 offset wrapped in 255/40 Azenis all around. No roll no pull no rub, no issues.

Weight of driver might come into play.
