Need a recommendation for a good reliable shop!!

I am in Jersey, and I do not have time to work on the engine myself to be honest. I have the car up in Michigan with Chips Motorsports, but now regretting it. Does anyone have any shop recommendations, preferably on the East coast, but I am seriously willing to go anywhere for it. I have a mostly stock '93 FD RX7. I need an engine rebuild. LMK if you can help!!

I would also recommend Banzai Racing. I haven't dealt with Chris directly for an engine rebuild, but my friends have.

However, my first FD the motor was actually built by Chris at Banzai 2 owners prior to my ownership. Some 8 years later I bring the car (and motor obviously) to Banzai and Chris is able to clean up the fuel map and make corrections knowing how the car was tuned some 8 years prior in a different chassis.

For a true rotary builder Ihor Huk at IR Performance in New Jersey is one of the best rotary builders in the country

Set expectations on timing, and you won't be disappointed once it's Renna tuned and delivered

Plus 1 more for Chris at Banzai. Haven't worked with him on mechanicals, but every interaction I have had with him over the decades has been great

Chris from Banzai is the real deal. Very thorough in what he does. Have been very impressed after seeing the work he did on a friend's 3 rotor. I will likely be sending my engine there when the time comes.

Communication is good too. A couple years ago, I bought some parts that were backordered and the first thing he did was contact me to inform of the backordered status and whether I wanted to proceed w/ the transaction.

Hope the above information is of some value. Good luck in your search!

We serve FD owners in middle TN.
We do everything BUT engine rebuilds (too risky).... instead we install Mazda crate motors for owners who want to stay stock for about $8k plus any new peripheral parts needed.
We have one crate motor on-hand.

Hasn't your car been stuck at IRP for like 2 years? I would caution making the recommendation until they actually fix the issues and people get their cars and motors. Many people have tried to set expectations on timing and missed expectations.

There is also someone on here that had to go get their car back from chips after multiple years to have another shop finish it....
