$34,000 is my guess. That's $40,000 minus what needs fixing.

Curious that the body is so pristine but there is a decent amount of under body corrosion given the mileage. I'm still interested and will be watching the auction closely. One thing to remember is that NONE of the cars from that era will be as good as a GT3. The FD is woefully underpriced in comparison despite being on par if not better than the NSX/Supra to drive. They're still rare and they're still cheap IMO. As supply starts to change hands eventually we will hit a point where there won't be any good, cheap stock cars left. The same thing that happened in 2011 on with old Berlinettas, Jalpas, etc is going to hit the FD too. I assume you're talking 996 GT3 at that price point? Is it really that fantastic? I've had my eye on them or a 996 turbo as I think they'd be a decent place to park money for the next couple years. With only 1000 GT3s in the states it's a pretty easy bet. A stock FD at 40k is NOT a good deal at all. YES the GT3 is at least 3 times the car. The body is a tank, the engine is bullet proof, the interior is good, trans is very good etc...etc... Only weakness is the diff and the coolant lines that can pop loose. Otherwise it's the only car I know of that a pro driver could take to a race track and beat on for a weekend with zero problems. |

Ok guys, here goes. Let me know what you guys think my FD is worth. Below is what I typed up as a starter.
1993 FD3S RX-7 - Silver Stone Metallic 49,445 original miles I’m reluctantly putting my FD3S up for sale. I bought this car with 28k miles in 2012 from the original, very meticulous engineer owner. It was his ‘forever’ car until he got the Porsche bug and decided to part with it. When I took ownership of this FD, it was halfway developed into the perfect street/track car. The goal was to have a safe, reliable car capable of boulevard cruising or weekend track work. Everything on this car is done right, with quality OEM or aftermarket parts. As it sits, this car is happy purring around in traffic as a daily driver or spending all day on a track in summer with no drama. It runs rock solid, starts hot or cold, runs cool (intake air and water temp) and is reliable all day long on California 91 pump gas. The engine is completely stock internally and only modified with bolt on parts. I had it very conservatively tuned by Steve Kan to 285 WHP @12 psi. I didn’t want a dyno queen tuned within an inch of its life, I wanted a no worries car. Of course, with the parts on it (BNR turbos, V-mount, exhaust, Power FC, etc) you could easily turn up the power but I chose to play it safe and reliable. The car starts, runs and drives great. Because of its track oriented nature and the V-mount, the A/C had been removed. Other than that, all systems and components work including the electric radio antenna and the cassette deck. It’s all there and fully functional as it came from the factory. This is a beauty of a car, as clean as they get and modified the right way for longevity and fun. It still breaks my heart to be putting it up for sale but I just don’t drive it enough anymore. It’s in such good shape that I retired it from track duty and just use it for occasional weekend canyon runs. So it mostly sits – which is a shame and why I think it might be time for another owner to use it like it was intended. This is a no-issues car, clean title and adult owned since day one. Please note that with the current mods, it will not pass California emissions but it is currently street licensed and registered. Included with the car are a bunch of uninstalled parts, OEM spares, track wheels & tires, Mazda owner and shop manuals and a stack of receipts going back 25 years. If you can find a cleaner car for sale in the U.S. for less, buy it. I’m in no rush to sell so please only serious inquiries. Thanks. Details below. 1993 RX-7 Base. Nice car. A lower miles silver base is a great foundation. Modifications can be a tough call, but those are very tasteful and high quality additions. You'd come out ahead selling them and taking it back to stock, if that's what the buyer wants....

I'll say $22k to $24k. It's a 93 with a roll bar.

Id pay $25k for the Silver Car above without hesitation and everyone knows I only buy on the low side. The car is setup very nice with some very nice mods. The cage and no AC hurt it if you were to list on BAT but I think it is a $28-30K FD. I get excited over SSM like most get excited over CW and CYM(for whatever insane reason someone would own a yellow car).

Even still, tough call on the price because it requires a specialized buyer but for me I'd say it is worth around $35K. IMO the things that hurt this potential sale is that it is less appealing to the average joe because it lacks AC and it has a rather hardcore tower brace. With that said, I am very curious on what others have to say. |
