Question Glass sunroof questions

For anybody that has/had an FD with a glass sunroof, what are your thoughts on it?
I have no experience with it but it sounds horrible because the sun is always shining through.
Give me your thoughts / details as the car I am looking at currently has it.

Thank you

I have an FD with a glass sunroof. Like a lot of things, this is one that just comes down to preference. It's nice in the sense that more light comes into the cabin; but that's a double edged sword. However, if you can get your hands on one of the sunroof cover inserts, then it's best of both worlds.

You could also get the glass mega tinted.

my FD has a glass sunroof, but I have the insert so the sun isn't beaming down on me. you could always do a sunroof delete then sell the glass sunroof. It seems to be a hot commodity. Good quality tint can be effective as well; not so much the darkness of the tint, but quality and material of it. I have Huper Optik on my RX-8 with a lighter tint than the one the previous owner did on my FD and I don't feel the sun burning me. I also have tint (70%) on my front windshield (medical exemption permit) and no issues with glare or heat. My FD on the other hand has very dark tint, but it's not the best quality because I can feel the sun burning right through it.

Glass sunroof is fantastic, I only have completely clear UV block tint on mine, no heat or brightness issues even without the plastic insert installed on a sub-tropical island.

Really hated it, I had a 94 chaste white with a glass sunroof and I couldn't get used to it. It was hot, the headliner is lower, and I just knew it was heavy up top. I've got an R1 now which weighs in at under 2700 lbs and love that.

Not quite sure how the thermal dynamics of a completely shaded sunroof works, one that provides ventalation making a car hot. /shrug

There is a snap-on plastic cover that goes inside it to cover the glass. Those are SUPER rare at this point, that's one of those parts that the original owner tossed in a closet and forgot about when he sold the car so they get lost over the years.

Some of the new tints out there that do a lot of UV reflection would likely help.

I don't think there's a huge difference in weight between the glass and the metal sunroof. The glass does weigh more but it's not as heavy as you would think.
