I am listing my 93 FD online for sale in an auction forum. I have seen other cars like mine sell online for $40k to $90k. I am setting reserve price of $40k. I'll throw in my two cents, for whatever it's worth.

Condition is far more important than modifications if you're looking for maximum value out of an auction. Based on the one picture you've posted, your car looks in good shape. I would recommend putting some money into having the paint corrected and professionally detailed. Also get some professional looking photos taken at either a nice location, or with minimal background distraction. Take a TON of pictures. Use Bringatrailer for reference on what looks appealing to the eye for shooting a car properly.

For valuation, I don't think you're too far out of the park, possibly slightly on the high end. I would expect $30k minimum, but with the right auction it could go higher. The miles are mid-ranged for the cars I see sell, and the fresh engine will help the sale for sure. Be sure to have compression numbers ready, because that is likely the first questions you will get from perspective buyers, and failing to get them will hurt the sale, despite having a fresh engine with low miles.

GtiKyle- Thanks. I have over 60 photos submitted for the ad to Bringatrailer, including the printout of a dyno run done a couple weeks ago. Compression is 115 psi plus/minus 1.5 psi in all combustion chambers. I have had four RX-7 including this one. It is unusual for everything to work on a thirty year old car, but all of the stuff, including little things works on this car. All of the hoses and sensors that usually go bad have been replaced. Foo someone who wants to tinker with the suspension there are extra sets of springs to make the suspension firmer or softer and the four corners can be adjusted higher or lower and the shocks can be adjusted without crawling under the car. This is not a trailer queen, but someone who likes to drive fast will like the way this FD goes.

Here is a bit of a dated poll regarding buyer preferences.

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...tions-1160648/

BAT buyers seem to be getting more accepting of modified (somewhat) cars.

You have a lot of strong points, but I wonder if you might do better in private sales.

I'd like to see lots of videos (if allowed).

The strongest presentation of compression numbers are those that are live action videos showing the car then the test.

A selling point, that is not often discussed, is the condition of the bushings.

Replacing a full set can cost as much as a new keg.

Good to see you have done that.

I sold mine on BAT last year and these are the biggest things I remember:
1.) Car needs to be clean (duh) - My family was helping sell it while I was overseas and they didn't wash it despite me giving them money for a full detail...
2.) Compression numbers (with proof) are nice, so are cold / hot start videos showing it running. Anything to prove to people the car is in good shape. (also show maintenance records)
3.) Paying for the professional photographer is definitely worth it
4.) No one cared that the car came with thousands in accessories (OEM cover, etc.) - sell those separately

Car sold for $20k. It was RHD and had about twice as many miles, but otherwise looked very similar to yours. I imagine yours will do $30-40k.

No reserve auctions get more attention... But you gotta have guts to do a no reserve auction.

Didn't sell at 26.5k? soft market. just my 2c but biggest detractors where those RIMS/wheels + last minute comments on how compression test came about, there should have been images of test.

Wow. Going head to head with three other FD.

not being a Montego Blue car may be an advantage.
