FC TII Transmission into FD?

FC TII Transmission into FD?
Anyone ever tried running an FC TII Transmission in an FD? Internally, I know they are very similar, and can handle similar power levels. Main reason I ask is serviceability/availability/cost.
My FD is mainly a track car and I hate the pull-type clutch and PPF configuration.
I'm theorizing that in order to run the TII trans, I would need:
- clearance space for the TII Clutch Slave Cylinder
- use TII flywheel/clutch
- fabricate chassis mount to eliminate PPF
- custom driveshaft since I'm assuming length will be different?

In theory it's doable. However the trans mount is really an inferior mount to the PPF. Also, you will have to fab some sort of front diff mount as there will be nothing supporting the nose of the diff.
The guts of the transmission are pretty much the same, it's the Type R transmission.
Seems like a lot of work with little benefit. The pull-type clutch is awkward to disengage when you're doing a clutch job but it's not that bad. I don't really see why you would dislike the PPF, it does its job well and simply.

As dale stated, the PPF does work. If your car is a track car, the Banzai transmission mount does an amazing job of stabilizing the transmission for track duty. At the rear of the car they also make a differential brace.
Those two things should easily handle your concern with the PPF.
As far as the pull type clutch, I don't know why you do not like it. It feels no different to me than anything else. A twin disc clutch with the required pull-push converter would probably be what you want for track duty.
Regarding the TII transmission, other concerns would be the speed sensor on the FD does not exist on the FC as it is a cable driven speedometer.
The flywheel is still the same size. You can confirm this by going to any vendors like act, they list the same part number for 87-91 turbo, 93-95, and the RX-8. ONLY DIFFERENCE is the counter weight.

I don't think Angry Earl tracks the car, I think he drifts it and is sick of breaking the PPF and messing with pull type clutch when changing clutches (clutch is regular maint for a drift car).
FC trans can be made to work using the same hacks that people use to do V8 conversions and add a trans mount and diff mount.
Little things like clutch master placement etc are going to be a bit of work, but it is do-able.
Another solution would be to convert the FD trans to push type with the conversion kit and then add the trans mount and diff mount to the power plant frame arrangement and you will still have the nice snappy engine torque to rear tire delivery that the PPF provides.
Banzai trans brace-
HPP Diff brace-
-----------
My FC even with all competition mounts was still not as snappy/predictable as the FD to throttle input because you transmit torque engine through the chassis to the rear end (wind up).
Still, that doesn't get you into replacing FC TII trans which are a little cheaper than FD trans and doesn't eliminate the PPF so you still have to drop that to change a clutch.
But it will get you much more strength in the FD drivetrain while retaining one of the FD's driving advantages.
_edit- I know the same answers can be distilled out of the comments above, but I put them in one post and added pictures to sell it.
