Damnit, stop driving up FD prices here in Japan. You're going to get my POS track beater stolen. Haha.

I would not be concerned about a little mold. I picked up this interior from a car that had sat under a tarp out in the Westcoast rain for years. There was a fuzz a half inch thick on some pieces. About an hour with Mothers Interior Detailer (2 bottles at Costco: C$13.95) and they came up looking mint. Most of these pieces are happily residing in local FD now. I managed to carry all these pieces back from the seller in one load in my Pontiac G6 convertible.

Nasu Machi seems to be up in the mountains. It is a tad close to Fukushima though.

All Japanese export cars must have a certificate of no radiation, so I have been told.

I mean that Americans buying 25+ year old sports cars are driving prices up so much that:
1. I will probably never be able to buy another FD or other top-flight car from the era
2. cars of this era are getting stolen at increasingly high rates.

This would be less of a problem if Japanese wages had not been so stagnant for the last 30 years...

Many people locally are finding the answer to this problem by buying the new Supra.

there’s lots of problems (for me) with a new Supra. That’s not the answer for me.

Judging from reactions at local meets, a lot of guys that have the new Supras would rather have the FD. But you see, there are not enough FD to go around!

(Or their parents won't let them buy a 30 year old car)

Here is an example of a local Supra that I have spotted running about recently. There are a surprising number of the new Supra here, and many have been highly "personalized" such as this.

Seems listing of FD on Yahoo Japan are becoming more frequent and pricing for these down-market examples is firming up. I have no idea where these cars are ending up and who the typical bidders are.

Seems to be a floor at about C$20,000.

2023 starting off with a bang! Lots of new postings in Buyee/YAJ. Who is going to figure out how to buy one of these first?

Why the prime LHD FD should be considered vastly underpriced:

That seller has a very high percentage of bad ratings.

I can see why. I saw my fair share of auction flips while I was looking for mine. Quick resprays and such

I have heard of people paying upwards of $80,000 (10 million yen) for truly special FDs, and prices are very high right now.... but I think they might be peaking.
