Can you provide a picture of your evo r lights and which bulbs you want to replace? (High or low beam)
standard response is that you shouldnt put LED’s or HID’s into a housing that wasnt designed for them. If its a reflector style housing, the HID output is gonna be all over the place blinding other drivers and in my experience with LED’s youre gonna get a bad hot spot. If its a projector, the HID’s will look a lot better but the housing likely wont have a cut off line so still get some wild output.
Replacing the bulb with a higher performance type halogen bulb usually gets you a lot less life, but may be the best route. Or just send it with a set of HID’s

They are Projector (60 mm) non-HID for both hi and lo beams. They were OK when I lived in Houston, but I now live in a rural area outside Santa Fe, NM. No road lights. Also, I'm 71 years old and my eyesight at night is not as good as most of the members of this forum.

I commend you for still driving and caring for an FD at that age
You will need to find out what bulb type it takes, but being a projector I would probably get a decent set of HID's from a site like www.theretrofitsource.com
LED's may be ok too, I just don't have experience with those in a projector housing. They will have less wiring to hide since there's no ignitors. But I believe most of them have a fan on the back of the bulb that can make them a challenge to install in certain housings. Maybe someone else with your headlight setup will speak up.

I don't wanna be a naysayer, but here I go again anyway.
Those lights are a little infamous for having crappy lighting.. Have you considered going back to pop-ups with a set of true projectors, ala Sakebomb Garage? I'll bet the difference would be like night and day (don't pardon the pun).

That poll stopped short. Might surprise some how many of us are firmly in Medicare years here.
Probably not THEE BEST, but another option is just the stock lights with Silverstars. I drive in rural area all the time. They seem to reach out pretty well. Never felt the need for more with my old eyes.

Old is only a matter of the mind. Up to a few years ago I was running my FD at Mid-Ohio.
I understand the comments about going back to pop-ups, but that's not for me.
AE Racer...I'll check out www.theretrofitsource.com

If you cant find something to upgrade the Evo-R 60mm light kit (Im looking now to see what that even is)...
You can get some auxilliary lighting to augment the headlight output.
Im not much for the stock touring FD foglight location- always looked tacked on.
But LED mini lightbar in outside edge of oil cooler ducts would look cool IMO.
I personally bought ebay Depot front marker lights (clear) and put LED micro projectors in the inner bulb location and LED mini projector/flashbacks (for orange turn signals) in the inner spot.
