Would be a pain with the car all put together but I HATE worm drive clamps on coolant hoses. They are a leak problem all the time.

OEM spring clamps are the only way to go.

Worm drive clamps are either too tight so they bite into the hose and damage it or too loose so they leak. They also can't adjust as things heat up and cool down.

Spring clamps can move with heat expansion and contraction and don't damage the hose.

The OEM clamps are typically infinitely reusable too unless they are damaged in some way. I'll never understand why people throw out quality OEM clamps for some 10 cent crap from Autozone.

All that said, if that hose was loose that can be an issue, any coolant leak is a problem. A small amount can dribble out of there causing an air pocket which can result in overheating.

Thanks Dale, appreciate the feedback.
I am not a fan of worm clamps either. I use the marine grade clamps that are smooth on the inside and don’t bite into the rubber hose. Must have missed the tightening on that clamp somehow. I will monitor it and see if any other issues. Took the car for a spirited drive, all is well, temps are stable etc etc. Did notice the air bubbles sound near the filler neck after the car was shut off. Not sure if anyone else experiences this but it happens to me idk.

My next coolant change I would consider switching to the OEM clamp, if it’s possible to get them on my setup with the factory fans. It’s a tight fit lol.

Cheers
