I heard back from my agent -

I just looked up your Policy and it issued as a Private Passenger car in our Mutual (preferred) Company, with a value of $24,000. It does have the Antique Classic Endorsement so that we could value the car. You have a Low Annual Mileage Discount, but State Farm does not monitor how you use those miles.
I read through my policy, and found this in the "Antique and Classic Endorsement" amendments -

Limits and Loss Settlement - Comprehensive Coverage and Collision Coverage.

If loss is to "your car" to which this endorsement is shown as applying on the Declarations Page... You and we agree that the actual cash value of such vehicle is the value shown for it on the Declarations Page unless :

1. such vehicle has been damaged
2. parts or equipment have been removed from the vehicle
3. such vehicle's condition has changed due to neglect or abuse

after the value for it shown on the Declaration's Page was agreed to and prior to the loss.
I cut that down a bit, but it does go on to state that the value would then be the Declaration's Page value (which does state $24000) less the parts removed or prior damage value loss.

So it does seem to read as though they're valuing it at an agreed-value price, unless I remove parts and such. I find it odd that State Farm mentioned the "parade, show use" stuff on their site, but I can't find any mention of specific uses in my policy at all.

Sounds like you do have agreed value.
SF must have changed their policies in recent years.
One thing I'd do is to take good pictures, with date imprints, each year to prove the continued condition of your car. It would be good to have evidence just in case that third limitation is invoked.

Just saying....

AAA Gave me $21k+ for my totalled '93, way back in 2009.
I had receipts for 99 spec stuff, and they even gave me cash for mods that came with the car when I purchased it (FMIC, intake, RB duals..)

They even gave me 50$ for black painted stock wheels.

I made the mistake of taking all the cash and not coming up with a deal on getting the car back minus some dough.
(out of curiousity I ran the VIN on carfax last year, its still out there...)

They initially wanted to pay out 14k. Just have to apply some pressure. They sent out an appraiser who made note of every mod, all my receipts, and priced accordingly.

Logically, one would just stay home or find alternate means or wait til the daily is fixed.
My office has private covered parking with a security gate. But the car can still get wrecked driving too and from work. Cars are more likely to get into accidents when more cars on average are on the road at any given time (rush hour). It's a statistical thing. It also means the rates are going to be different as the risk changes.

I recently dealt with Tanya Lang in American Collectors Sales department at extension 3218 recently and she was very helpful if you're looking for a specific personal to deal with

I was going to try J.C. Taylor next but I may just have to give these guys a try, thanks.

Got a quote from them about 9 months ago but they wouldn't value the car for 32k. Called them a few days ago, and they were surprised their research showed values in the 30-40k and had no problem with 32k, didn't even need the receipts for the engine rebuild.

Can't remember who I was speaking with but I would recommend.

I tried to move over to ACI last year, but the lady I called was on vacation for 2 weeks, so I just renewed my regular insurance with AAA, I'm going to try to switch again this fall.

Call Hagerty. My experience has been great. Done on-line with a couple of of pictures. Follow-up call from an agent. Less expensive, few restrictions with better or no deductibles. On a subsequent broken WS comp claim I had a check in the mail in two days...before I could even get the. car scheduled in.
Just had a free tow claim on my antique car that was painless too.

I just read online reviews for both ACI and hagerty. Not so great but I know not too put too much stock in that. With that said, the true testament of an insurance company is when a claim is filed. So has anyone done so or know of anyone?

^ good point. I'm also interested in hearing what everyone's experience has been.

I've had 2 total loss claim with Geico, almost 3 and it's been a pretty good experience.

I thought they were going to shaft me on my recent FD claim but everything worked out.

Does anyone know if they have any restrictions on use of the car? The only miles the car sees are car meets/shows and racing such as autox and track days. I don't expect the car to be covered during an open track day such as Sebring but will it be covered during autox or Drag strip? I ask because I have USAA currently and they will cover Autox and Drag strip accidents but I know plenty of others won't. I plan on calling later next week to get more information but was curious if anyone had personal experience in these situations.

I went through USAA to get American Collectors Ins...they do have restrictions, one being garbage kept. Give them a call and ask them all the questions.

Not sure if I mentioned this, but American Collector's also is insuring my NB Miata for like $10 per month.... this with a nice hefty agreed on value of $7000. Yes, you read that right, it's almost like free insurance

Yup, I know of someone filing a quite large claim with American with many additions/supplements and they were awesome---- everything went without a hitch and the car was fixed better than new. The final claim was high enough that if this had been standard insurance the car would have been totaled like twice over.

You can't go wrong in my experience
